On Thursday, the Spring Equinox, it was cloudy most of the day, so no sun shining from one end of the house to the other. I was up just after 6AM and got the post up and the cat fed.
I had a few small jobs that had piled up on my desk, so I took care of those. Then I remembered the seedlings needed checked and watered. I decide the Mesclun had grown big enough to warrant a haircut. So I did both trays.
Then I checked the seedling. Some of the onions were up but not enough to pull covers off yet. I thinned the kale and verbascum and watered them all. And that’s when I ran out of gas. That big garden of 5 hours work had done me in on Wednesday.
I got the Mesclun rinsed and had half of it for lunch. It was cool in the living room as the heater had shed all its heat. So I wrapped up in a quilt and the cat and I watched Gilmore Girls for the rest of the day.
We had to start both stoves in the evening as Friday is to be cold, in the 40’s, cloudy, and very windy. I don’t know if my helper friend is coming or not. If not I should work on the estate stuff. If he comes we will probably inventory the cellars and I have errands for him to run.
The spring equinox was uneventful to me with some work in the garden. Funny I felt asleep all day long! I had little energy to be active so I also took it easy. The temperature has turned much lowered for a few days! Crazy weather!
That's a good harvesting

Nice to have a fresh-picked salad from your tray. It is cold here too and right now some large snowflakes are falling. lol
It's headed our way for Sunday and Monday...
I love the farm work and how you are handling it
The seedlings are very fresh and vibrant.

Wow, the seedings are looking healthy.
You are doing a good job.
Maybe you should call your helper friend so she can inform you if she’s coming or not…
