In the last few days, as the thunderstorms keep rolling through, we’ve gotten 5½” of rain. We got 2¾” since Friday alone. All the plants are going crazy with all the rain.
In the Big garden, the peach colored hollyhocks have flowered. They didn’t get amended this year; I didn’t want to move the mulch, so they aren’t as tall as last year.
I went over to the Small garden to see the status of the squashes and green peas. I still have a few days before I have to harvest the green peas.
On Thursday, 2 days ago, I harvested anything of any size of the sugar pod peas, all of it, even double checking for missed pods. Well, it looks like I must harvest again on Sunday morning, as there are plenty of big pods again.
Right next to the peas, the Anne raspberry is finally starting to color up. There’s going to be a huge harvest of these raspberries this year.
East Shed garden – 7 Sisters rose is pretty impressive
At the other end of the shed, the West Shed daylilies are really getting going.
And in the very weedy East of Steps garden, the maiden pink has made its way through the weeds and is flowering. I wish I had time to weed this garden…
I never knew you had the big garden and small garden
Are they in the same compound or different places?
They are all in the yard, about 30' apart. Here is a map of the yard I made before we started construction in 2019.
I've made a new map but it is enormous and not on the computer. The yard is much larger now, with the Little Trees on both sides and the Pasture garden.
Hope no plant got damaged by the storm?☹️
The whole plants in your garden is blooming nicely and I wish you multiple harvest.
So far, they have escaped unscathed...
You got all the rain that we did too. You are right the plants have grown a ton this week. That sister rose is stunning. I would have to save some of her petals to make rose water. ;-)
I have saved the petals in the past, but the Damascus rose would be the best for rosewater.
The rain did wonder to these plants in your garden. This week we’re going to have rain everyday. The garden was overgrown with green grasses.
Wow dear, your garden looks absolutely lush and thriving despite the storms. It must be incredibly rewarding to see everything blooming so beautifully. Wishing you a bountiful harvest ahead and a happy Sunday today
The maiden pink flower looks beautiful and i'm glad that they were able to grow out from the weed.

There is a lot of rain there. Here in Venezuela there was a lot of drought and that affected the planters too much...those raspberries look delicious. It is a real art of planting and harvesting.
Oh those peas and raspberries look super yum! My peas are just starting to flower thanks to all the cold we had this spring, but it won't be long til I'm snacking on them lol!
And holy rain my friend, talk about soggy conditions! It will probably turn around and roast you now like it did to us, soo much humidity yesterday here!
