New Herb garden after the rain

On Monday I got the post up, and tried to get ready for my #2 intern at 8AM. Only she showed up at 7AM. I’d planned to do many errands but nothing was open until 8AM. So I had her finish the clean-up from the shredding while I finished getting ready for the day.

We went out and did shopping and brought it back and put it away. By then it was nearly 9AM when more places opened, so we went out again and did those.

By the time we’d finished those, it was time to cross the river to Africa and do 2 errands there that opened at 10AM. We were back by 11AM when she had to go.

That finished me off for the day. I hadn’t been feeling very well at the start and I wanted to go to bed, but it was too hot. So I spent the rest of my day in my chair in the office where it was cool.

On Tuesday I was feeling much better. I was up at 4AM and set to work on the bills/budget. I nearly had it done when my helper friend arrived at 9:30AM. I had him haul out all the bags of shredding to the trash shed and then run the vacuum around on the first floor.

I got a shower and the laundry started while he did that. Then I sent him outside to cut back and up the forsythia for when it stops raining and I can mow the yard.

I had thought about starting the zucchini ravioli but there wasn’t enough time. So I sent him on an errand and worked on the bills/budget some more.

When he left at 12:30PM, I sat down to read e-mail, etc. I found one from John Kempf’s company announcing a sale on amendments. As my helper friend is now doing the foliar feeding and we are low on things, I sat and found the best prices, and more sales, for 4 of the things we needed.

When I’d finished that, I went to bed for a nap as it had started to rain again. I woke up late afternoon.

I sat in my chair for a while with help and then got up to finish cleaning up the kitchen.

My brother and I had planned to do the last batch of basil pesto, but he had to work late. So maybe Thursday…

All this rain and humidity has made the dining room floor warp badly again. One board has popped part way out.

The amaryllis has just finished flowering (stalk on left) and now has another bud already. It’s been an amazing plant this year.

On Wednesday, we get the boxes of books, or rather my #2 intern does, out of the attic until the car is filled. Then at 9:30AM we head up to get rid of them at a local bookstore that will take all books and movies. We have to be back by 11AM when she goes. It’s to rain off and on all day, as it rained all Tuesday night.

I should finish the laundry and clean up the kitchen which isn’t bad. And finish the bills/budget if I have any brain power left.

Your herb garden looks fabulous and I imagine it smells heavenly. More rain headed your way probably, we just had two days of on and off.

Same here got 4.5” in last week…

Wow, that is a lot. We are expecting 3-4 in the next two days. My brother just got 7” in Virginia

I can see how beautiful your garden is really looking beautiful

I see lushness everywhere in your garden, I've really missed it a lot.
It's raining over there, it's August break over here and the weather is stifling again.

I’m a big fan of that game you were playing
It’s called Solitaire right?

Yes, spider solitaire
