Hello to garden community! I will love to share with you what I have in my garden for today.
I planted okra in my garden a few months ago. This plant is one of the most favorite veritable in my country, people in the country like to take this vegetable as it is a good source of vitamins and minerals.
This plant that I planted some months ago(okro) is a type of vegetable used in the preparation of drawing soup in Nigeria.
it a type of plant that grows very fast and doesn't need many nutrients for its growth. This plant may be of different varieties based on the time of maturity but all varieties have the same taste.
The variety that I planted is a type that matures just in forty days, some other varieties may mature in ninety days and some may be used up to one twenty days before they can mature.
The mode of propagation of this plant is by seed, you can only plant the seed of this plant and not by stem cutting as other plants or flowers. It should be noted that not all seeds of this plant can be planted, the seed that can be planted is the one that has been dried.
The seed from the fresh one can not be used for its propagation only the dried one can be propagated.
This plant is highly productive and can be easily propagated, so you can easily multiply it.
The flowers from the plant must be well exposed for pollination, its flowers attract insects like bees and butterflies for its pollination. it flower is bright yellow but maybe purple at the early stage.
The okra may also be of different sizes, some may belong while others may be short. The high of the plant may also vary depending on the variety that is planted. The varieties that have longer days for maturity are always taller than varieties that have shorter days for maturity.
