Roselle (zobo) from my garden

Hello to everyone and happy weekend to you. Hope the week has not been stressful? if it has been trying to take a good rest for this weekend.

This is my first post to the community but I will like to share with you pictures and uses of a plant in my garden called ROSELLE. This plant is a medicinal plant that produces fruits and seeds which can be used for its propagation.

The plant is of many varieties but the one planted generally in Africa is Roselle, it is also called Hibiscus drink or zobo as a common name given to the plant in Nigeria.

I planted roselle in my garden a few months ago, it is a plant that is normally propagated in the rainy season. Some of these plants as started fruit while some are just flowering. it is normally deep pink in including the juices extracted from it.

There are some great benefits from the plant Roselle which are medicinal.
This includes the regulation of blood pressure, this plant helps in controlling high blood pressure when the drink extracted from it is taken.

it also regulates the menstrual cycle and reduces cramps.
it also regulates the level of cholesterol in the body.
it also protects the liver
it contains anti-cancer properties
it promotes weight loss
these and a lot more are the benefits of this plant.

You can prepare the drink from this plant after you have harvested it, you will have to remove the fleshy part and then sundry it. The major reason for drying is to preserve the plant for use at any time. This fleshy part that has been sundry is then boiled in hot water, after boiling you can decide to refrigerate it. it is very good not to add anything to it but some may like to add sugar or Ginger to hibiscus drink (zobo).

CAUTION: Don't take this drink during pregnancy it may have some side effects.

I will employ you to plant roselle in your garden too, it will make you healthy as it has a lot of health benefits.
