Hello, hive gardeners from around the world, greetings. greetings to the beautiful hive garden community. In the northern hemisphere now spring has arrived. But we (my husband @eolianpariah2 and I) are here in India working hard in our big garden to bring it back in good shape. slowly one by one thing is improving, but now it is high season for cashews so we are very busy with the harvest, saving some for us and selling most (we don't need 60-70 kilos of cashews), after the season ends there are no buyers. that will be part 2.
Also now mangoes are approaching ripeness on one of our trees and our beautiful monkey families come and destroy them. we wouldn't mind if they eat the mangoes properly but they just take a small bite and throw them on the ground. After three years of waiting to enjoy the world's best Alphonso and 100% organic mangoes from our own garden. We have to keep eye on them every day that is our extra duty now. But they are very sneaky, come very quietly, and only after eating mangoes do they make any sounds. Somebody told us to fill plastic bottles with red colored water and hang them on the tree, we tried that. it may have worked for a few days but soon they were not bothered by the bottles.
so I made a scarecrow hoping that might scare them. maybe it did for a couple of hours or even days but...
The water filled in bottles we use normal food color
My husband hung them on a few branches.
It worked out for a few days and they start jumping around again, throwing mangoes here and there.
Here is the leader. after the sour unripe mangoes, he likes the sweet Chikoos/sapotas that are more plentiful.
next try scarecrows
My project is to make scarecrows.
coming soon with an update in the next post, how it will work.
Thank you very much for stopping by.
What a brilliant way to scare monkeys who were taking good advantage of your fruit trees, my dear friend. I hope that all is well. But honestly, I am thinking about how it works. And I am carefully looking at the pictures as I think how it works all the way, hehe. Have a nice time and take care always. I hope the monkeys won't harm you and won't harm your garden once more.
thank you for your nice words. These monkeys are not harmful. We have fun seeing them with their small babies. but they are a menace. today we picked some mangoes and we went away for a while after came back we saw they threw many mangoes on the ground. they might angry. Thanks for stopping by. greetings 😊😊
And I only have deer and rabbits to try to chase away! Good luck!
We have lots of birds and other animals like squirrels, bats, and wild cats, that come and enjoy the fruits they eat ripened fruits and share them with each other, but these monkeys just destroy the trees, flower buds, new leaves of papaya, banana, and young fruits. jumping on the terrace and making a mess all around. We picked some mangoes today and now these monkeys are angry and started making more messes. thank you for stopping by greetings 💓😊🙏
As for me I am lucky I don't have monkeys to chase, we only got birds and insects. Insects and pests are giving me headaches whenever mango season is coming.
we have some insects but monkeys are more problems. thanks for stopping by greetings😊
You're welcome. Have a nice day ahead.
Nice installation here @hindavi ! I hope it will work, at least enough for you to have some mangos for you :D I will look forward to see the updates and it's already nice to see a bit more your place !
Take good care, greetings to both of you 💚🙏
You know anttn this heat making me very tired. after working in the garden running around to finish some paperwork. Even though we have AC car when come home I have no energy I messed up our routine. this year with many things to organize before coming back to Norway. when I sit at the computer my eyes start closing and I go to bed early getting up early with nice bird songs and soft sounds from waves. making very few posts sometimes the uploading is very slow. But trying to keep in touch with a hive with a certain community. How is your progress in new house and new garden? take care dear. 💓😊regards
Hello dear @hindavi, I understand that well, here, even without heat I am already running around and quite tired... So I imagine that with the torpor on top of that !
Everything is going pretty well for the house, the purchase is still in progress and I think it will be for the beginning of June. In the meantime, I'm still doing a bit of gardening in our city gardens, although it's not really the same thing !
I send you all the courage you need to carry out these different activities !
Greetings to both of you and sorry for the late reply :)
