Harvesting more Nettle in an organic farm in Peru.

So we the hit the farm this morning early to avoid the morning rush hour, but still got caught up in it due to road works. About two hours later, we arrived at the organic farm and everyone on site was super busy with their individual tasks. I am quite lucky as I don't have to get down and dirty, but I am blessed to reap the benefits of amazing veggies and herbs. All organic too.

Bali, our dog came out for a road trip. I couldn't let her off the leash, as she would cause chaos with the farm dogs and chase her mum into the covered areas. These covered areas are off limits to dogs, as pest introduction has to be kept to an absolute minimum.

The tomatoes are starting to ripen, but there are a few here and there to harvest. In a couple months, once spring/summer starts to kick in, there will be more tomatoes than one knows what to do with. Last year, it got to the point where I was totally over tomatoes and even started dreaming about them.

Loads of herbs growing on the edge of the farm and all organic too. I went hunting for some lavender flowers but that seemed to be the one thing on site that wasn't around. No worries as I bought like five baby plants of them from a local plant nursery.

After haversting nettle last week, the local staff left this plant alone for me and are slowly coming round to the possibility that there is value in this plant. If I didn't use it for soups, this plant would have been long gone and replaced by something else. This plant was hacked away last week for my needs, but has since bounced right back. Some stalks will be left untouched to seed.

I managed to score bit of nettle from the one and only plant on the farm. This time I will keep some left over nettle soup for the staff here. They saw pictures of the last one I made and heard how good it was, but are still are a little skeptical to make it themselves. I am sure once they try it and understand all the health benefits. Then they will be making it themselves quite often.

After haversting some nettle, taking Bali for a walk around the farm, we both ventured into the organic nutrient production tent. No one was in the tent, so we could snoop around and see how they make their own nutrients.

I will be back at the farm next Tuesday, but this time I intend to bring a way better camera and snap loads of photos. I think it will be good to keep an ongoing record of ongoing food production at the farm. There are even rumors that baby turkeys will be bought to be raised on site too.

Have a great week ahead,

Wow! You have a huge place to plant! Is it an organic tomato?

It is pretty big and there are plans to expand further. Yes, they are all organic tomatoes and they just plant a load more. In a few months there will be about 10 types of tomatoes growing here.

Wow! Amazing!
For my part, I will start next month! It will be squash and Chili again. In December or November, I will try cabbage and lettuce. ^_^

Dear @intrepidsurfer, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
You can do it on Peakd, ecency,
