Hello Gardeners
How are you today ? I hope and pray, we are all always given health and also happiness in living this life. I am also very happy, to finally be given the time and opportunity to be able to participate and contribute to the HiveGarden Community for my various stories and experiences in hydroponic gardening. I also want to wish a happy Eid Al-Fitr to Muslim friends around the world who are celebrating it. May this Eid al-Fitr moment make us more enthusiastic in living this life.

I feel that time flies very quickly, I just felt the year change from 2022 to 2023 and it is already at the end of the first quarter of 2023. In fact, I feel that I can use the precious time that has passed for my productivity to be even better. I am determined to optimize the full potential of the space in my hydroponic garden area to grow more vegetables. So, what are my activities in the hydroponic garden this week? continue to see my story this time.

Condition of Pakcoy in My Hydroponic Garden
For the first time, I will invite my friends to see the condition of the pakcoy that I planted in the hydroponic garden. Pakcoy is a type of vegetable that is still in the same family as mustard greens. This vegetable is one of the excellent vegetables to be grown in a hydroponic system. Pakcoy has good resistance to changing weather conditions, is resistant to pests and has very high commercial value for development.

In last week's journal Hydroponics, I talked about the post-harvest conditions in my hydroponic garden and I started to sow vegetable seeds to replace the vegetables I had already harvested. This week, I transferred about 250 pots of pakcoy that were ready to be planted into my hydroponic medium. The Pakcoy that I planted grew very well. I transplanted the Pakcoy seeds when they were 8 days old with four leaves. Currently, the pakcoy seeds are 13 days old after sowing with the condition that the seedlings have grown about six leaves.

The process of transferring vegetable seeds to the planting medium is one of the most strenuous activities when we start carrying out plantation activities with a hydroponic system. Because we will do each seed that we will transfer to the planting medium one by one.

Apart from that, I also have pakcoy with a planting age of about 19 days after sowing. The Pakcoy that I planted grew very well and optimally. During this planting period, I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of around 1200 ppm. Currently, the pakcoy that I planted is growing very well and optimally. We will see, how the condition of this pakcoy grows for the next period.

Conditions of Lettuce in My Hydroponic Garden
Next, I will invite my friends to see the lettuce that I grow in my hydroponic garden. I planted quite a lot of lettuce this growing season. I have about 400 pots of lettuce which are currently in the harvest period.

The lettuce that I grow in my hydroponic garden grows very well and optimally. The growth of the lettuce is very uniform, bright green in color and looks very fresh. During this planting period, I used hydroponic liquid fertilizer with a concentration of 600-800 ppm. Lettuce is a vegetable that does not need a lot of liquid fertilizer but when growing lettuce, we must limit the sunlight that enters the lettuce.

In addition, lettuce is also a vegetable that is not easily attacked by pests. As long as I grow vegetables in my hydroponic media. I very rarely find pests such as insects or rats that damage lettuce leaves. I think the bland taste of lettuce and almost no nutrition also makes insects or mice not want to eat it.

Condition of Kangkong in My Hydroponic Garden

During this planting period, I also carried out gardening activities to transfer the kangkong seeds that I sowed to the hydroponic media that I had. I moved around 400 pakcoy pots and it was one tiring activity for me.

Currently, the kangkong that I planted was 10 days old after sowing. Kangkong is a vegetable that grows very fast and also does not require troublesome care. Kangkong planted in this period also grew very well and optimally. We can see it from the uniform growth of vegetables, and their green color. If it grows under these conditions, within 10 days, the kangkong that I planted can be harvested.

Mint Leaves Condition in My Hydroponic Garden

Lastly, I will bring my friends to see the prima donna plants that I grow in my hydroponic garden. For many years, mint has been the most profitable and commercially valuable plant in my hydroponic garden. In comparison, 100 grams of fresh and good mint leaves can be sold at IDR 15K (1 USD).

The mint leaves that I planted grew very well and optimally. I carry out routine maintenance such as spraying hydroponic fertilizer solutions and also vegetable peptides to prevent pest attacks. One thing I've learned since I planted these mints is to harvest properly.

Mint leaves are a unique plant, as they must be pruned and harvested if you do not want the leaves or the plant. Mint leaves that are lush and too dense, will smell good and make it look like caterpillars or insects come to eat the leaves. Because of that, I never let the mint I grow grow too much and do regular harvesting.

Okay, that's all my story this time, see you next week.

That is impressive. I'm a completely noob when it comes to gardening in general. I certainly have heard the term hydroponic before, but know nothing of the works of it. I'm gonna show your post to my dad, to see if that inspires him to do something similar.

I see things are looking good over there. Reminds me I have to buy some lettuce for a good soup and a salad. The weather is warming up here so our gardening time has come.

Hello @erikah thank you for stopping by. I am very happy, you stopped by my blog.
All the vegetables I planted in this period were at their best. Because of that, even though the weather is extremely hot like this, I try to always be enthusiastic. It's great, the vegetables I grow can make you remember to eat and make salads. I think everyone should get used to eating vegetables frequently.

I think everyone should get used to eating vegetables frequently.

I do, but during winter what you get from the grocery store are like plastic.

You have done a phenomenal job, congratulations!
I may try something like this in the future and do it on my balcony, because my space outside is very limited.

If you want, you can also come by leothreads and post images or engage with garden/green content:) Today we are talking greentuesday)

Great effort and great success, you are a soldier of the green field.

🤩 Keep up the great work. This is an inspiration.
