My favorite garden

I like plants very much, I have always wanted to have a place where I can grow ornamental plants as well as edible and medicinal plants. I would very much like to someday have a space of land where I can be self-sufficient with whatever I am able to harvest. That is my dream, and as it seems for now it will remain so.

The reality (and I'm ashamed to admit it) is that I have no plants of my own, not even a tiny one in a pot, yet.... 😔🌼. But I do take care of others that are part of my community for example the ones in the garden of my building that I would like to be able to show here some other time.

I live in a building, and in addition to the common garden, in each landing of the staircase that gives access to the apartments, we have pots with plants, some ornamental and other medicinal, that we take care of among all the neighbors. Although this time I am not going to tell you about the garden of my building, today I want to introduce you to another garden, in which I have been able to see how it has been growing and increasing its plants.

This is the garden of my sister's house, a place I visit a lot and one of my favorites.

Every time I come to my sister's house it is in this corner where I feel more comfortable and at ease. My sister is lucky enough to have a large patio that she has been planting with different plants. She loves plants and in addition to the patio she has several adorning different spaces of her house, even in the bathroom she has a pot with a cactus 🌵, but in the patio is where she has most of them. Some of them were already there when she moved in, like the large mango tree that provides a very refreshing shade.

We all love to be under his shade, including the house cat, Muma. This is also her favorite spot and hunting ground, where she finds lizards and frogs.

What amazes everyone who comes to the garden is the platicerio (fern) that is on the tree. It is a plant that is grown similar to orchids and thrives best in shade. With time and care it has become very beautiful and has grown a lot since it was brought here, it is very large with broad leaves and a nice light green.

There is also another very curious plant that is one of my sister's favorites, known as Elephant's Foot. I read something very interesting about this shrub, and that is that, in Mexico, where most of the species of it exist, it is illegal to commercialize it, since at one time it was almost extinct in that country precisely because of its illegal sale, so I am glad I live in Cuba.

Around this tree, my sister has created a lovely garden with many pots with different species. Some of them are not even transplanted yet. Some of the names of the plants I am not sure of, and I think my sister is not sure either because she names them by the common name, and this is not always the correct name so I am grateful for the help of those more experienced to tell me what they are called. I only know how to name a few, such as Ferns, Orchids, Crown of Christ, some Cactus, a small Aloe plant, a Cow's Tongue. Here I show them all.

This garden is very beautiful and transmits me a lot of tranquility. The bad thing is that now the weather is not cooperating much. We are in May, a usually rainy month in my country, but it has rained very little, there is a lot of drought and excessive heat, and it is necessary to take extra care with the plants.

So much for my post today. I hope you liked my favorite garden, and I commit myself to start having some plants. I would like to start planting oregano, since I use it a lot both in the kitchen and in my daughter's herbal tea, which I prepare to relieve her from allergy and asthma symptoms.

Cheers to all of you, and until next time! 👋🌷

Very nice garden you show us, you have a diversity of beautiful plants. Be glad I don't live near you, because you would have to give me, a little son of each matica jiji. Happy weekend 🌹🌷🌺🥀🌻🪷🌼💮🌸💐🪻☘️

Your sister's garden is so beautiful. If I could live in a house, I would love a garden like that with a big mango tree.

I live in an apartment but I have plants on the small balcony. Among them is an oregano bush that has been with me for many years. It doesn't require much care and I always have fresh oregano. So cheer up!

Well, I'm going to cheer up, you know what I'm a little afraid of? That the plant dies and doesn't sprout hehe. But I guess that's normal to happen sometimes. I love oregano, I use it a lot.

Lindo jardín amiga, me encanta 💖 yo tampoco tengo espacio para un jardín así

Gracias, es un lugar muy agradable, pero si es verdad que lleva mucho espacio.

Your sister really has a very nice patio, it makes you want to spend the afternoon enjoying the breeze in one of the armchairs. Very nice pictures 🥰

Garden plants is so beautiful and you are looking so nice natural beauty
