Hey Everyone!!
Coriander is one of the most commonly used spices in our kitchens, yet many of us do not know how it grows and transforms from a tiny seed to a full-grown plant. Today, I am excited to share my experience with growing coriander and witnessing its fascinating life cycle, from delicate flowers to mature seeds.
A while back, I sowed coriander seeds in my garden as well as in a big flower pot that had some extra space. Over time, the plants grew beautifully, and soon, small white and pink flowers appeared. These tiny blooms added a refreshing look to my garden, and I eagerly observed their transformation.
Now, I have noticed that some of these flowers have started changing into seeds. While a few plants are still in the flowering stage, others have moved forward in their life cycle, producing green seeds. At this stage, the seeds are soft and tender, but as time passes, the plants will dry out, and the seeds will turn brown and hard. Once dried, a simple rub between the palms will remove their outer layer, revealing fresh coriander seeds ready for use.
This process has made me appreciate how much effort goes into growing even the simplest of ingredients that we use every day. Often, we only see the final product in the market, but there is an entire journey behind it—sowing, growing, flowering, and harvesting. Understanding this cycle helps us value our food more and be mindful of nature's wonders.
I hope you enjoyed these pictures capturing the different stages of coriander growth. It is truly amazing to see nature at work and experience the joy of growing something from scratch. If you ever get a chance, try planting coriander in your own space—it is an easy and rewarding process that connects you with nature in the best way possible.
Let me know your thoughts, and if you have ever grown coriander or any other spice, share your experiences in the comments!
No doubt there is a whole process behind the final product that we see in the market, we see it all nice and appetizing, but the hard work behind only those who do it know what it is about 😍 Great work!
Thank you so much ☺️
