It's a gloomy yet hot weekend in my area, maybe because of the Vog since Taal Volcano started to be active and releasing sulfur dioxide on Friday. All nearby provinces and cities were covered with smog. Even here in the city, Phivocs says, smog was due to pollution. Okay, whatever it is, everyone was advised to stay indoors. I decided not to go home since the air index in our province was unhealthy. I don't want to take the risk for someone like me who has asthma
However, when I woke up this Sunday, the weather was quite good, so I decided to go for a walk in the nearby park. Pasig Rainforest Park, Rave. It's an eight-hectare public park with some exciting activities to do. Yet, I wanted to share the flower fields and chasing butterflies today.**
The sky is still gray, and the sun is not peaking out, but I could feel the humid weather. By the way, this is the entrance to the flower fields, and you need to pay $0.18. Not that much, so my expectations weren't that high.
The first flower that greeted me was this lavender. Nope, it is the one you are thinking of; what I mean is the color.
It was planted beside the cemented path and served as decorations along with others. You will only appreciate its beauty with small petals if you look closely.
Parallel are pink Vietnam roses. Did you spot it? Perhaps not, as it was not a typical rose with thorns and grows taller. Yet let me show you.
As a teenager, I remember collecting different colors as it was easy to grow. Not to mention, it looks cool to adorn pathways.
Not too far from here was a bench where anyone could sit and relax while tired of walking or waiting. Because of flower beds, several groups of people have photoshoots from Prenup to incoming birthdays.
Not wanting to distract or create inconvenience, I stopped and stepped aside whenever I needed to. Naa, being a photobomber is not my cup of tea.
As I wander around, I pass by a white angel.
Now I wonder why it's the only flower with a label. If there is not, I would mistake this as Dama de Noche.

It might look like a daisy, but not. The leaves were different in that they looked like bushes. I tried checking through the Google Lens, but there was an error.
I am starting to get exhausted (been walking a lot before going here) and was about to have some rest. Thus, the thought was interrupted upon seeing butterflies! I can't remember seeing several flying and hopping from one flower to another since I relocated to the city!
Excitedly, I readied my phone, hoping to capture photos! One, two, or more attempts, and I expected it to be easier than I expected!
You might be asked, where are they? Well, they would snob me and fly away every time I go nearer. Yet, if you zoom in, you can spot one or two 😂.
Who says I am giving up? Of course, I was not, even though I could feel my sweat dripping on my neck. Patiently, I stood there waiting for the perfect time.
It paid off, and my efforts were well-spent as I managed to photograph this using macro shots. It's good that it was busy pollinating flower buds and didn't mind me. Or this one loves to be in the spotlight.
And the brown one, but what happened to your wings, dear? Was that because of an accident? No wonder this one looks weak.
Also found this cutie baby butterfly! Eat well to grow faster, kiddo; I will check with you next time!
This one looks mad; maybe he doesn't want to be photographed while doing a task 🤣. With that, I decided to leave as I was satisfied with the several photos I took.
I could go back here next time! I would love to walk around here again.
