Have you ever seen really cheap seeds and wondered if they're even worth buying? I'll admit I thought the same thing while in Dollar General earlier this Spring. It was late March and they'd just put out all the Spring gardening merchandise in the front of the store. I wanted to start planting some seeds, but wondered if packs that are four-for-a-dollar would even grow. It turns out, they grow really well if you plant them in good soil. I didn't want to spend much, so I bought four packs of wildflowers and a basil flowerbomb.
I planted the flowerbomb in cheap compressed soil that was from the dollar store. After much time, it sprouted one weak little seedling, which became yellow and pale soon thereafter. The wildflower seeds were planted in nutrient-rich potting soil that I already had at home; and they've done amazing!
I planted the basil flowerbomb first. When I was watering that, the water seeped out and spilled all over the packets of wildflower seeds. Since they'd all gotten wet, I felt the need to plant them quickly. I think I ended up planting them too closely, but for the most part they've turned out okay. Check out the growth process below ⬇️

Yesterday, I decided to use some of the wildflowers with my Japanese fairy garden set.
The first flower bud is so close to blooming! I think it will bloom either today or tomorrow (May 15, 2023)

I would be all over that! Even the seeds you see at the garden shop are not to much more expensive. In fact I wish I would of visited the dollar store first lol

Glad to know you got seeds at a low price. Sometimes you can get good stuff at such a price you start wondering whether that is worth buying. After getting good seeds, how you take care of them afterward show their growth. Good job!
