I already made an update with my garden vegetable and today I will be sharing with you my ornamental plants' situation after the typhoon.
Since the house was gone and the big trees that surround us that supposedly provides shade for my plants had fallen. And as the day goes by my plants were withered and it seems ready to die. It adds more struggle that I have to fetch water from a distance because until now the electricity was still unavailable. So, I immediately think of a solution, I went to the market to buy some nets to build a temporary shelter for my plants. But, the first thing I made after was find some woods to make a pillar for my project and also to make a shelter for my orchids at the same time.
Here's the procedure and the finished product
I stand in the woods and laid a bamboo pole and pin some nails to hang on my portulaca flowers which I planted on an old ketchup gallon.
Next is I add more pillars so I can have something to hang on the nets. (I don't have any experience in doing this thing so sorry for this kiddy plant shelter)
The following morning I built some stands to place my plants.
Here's how it looks like after. In building the stand I ask some help and guidance from my father so I was able to make it like that and the materials I used was from the house that got dismantled.
It seems not obvious but it helps a lot for my dehydrated plants to recover from direct sunlight. I also put some palm leaves at the top to add more shade because I bought the wrong nets and the holes are too big.
Here it is, it takes me days to finish my project because it was too hot in the afternoon already so I only work on it in the morning. I still have more to transfer here soon.
I'd like also to give you an update on most of my flowering plants after the typhoon
Most of them bloom magically maybe they like it on more sunny areas just like my hibiscus flowers.
All hibiscus flowers are photographed on different days. I also have more but they don't give flowers yet. I think I have almost 20 varieties already.
Roses
Portulacas
bougainvillea
anthurium, adelfa, pandakaki, poinsettia and flowers of a butterfly plant
That's how many plants I collected and I still have more to share. After all that happened thankfully, I was able to save and recover most of them. To this day I'll be busy transferring to the shelter and nurturing them every day.
Thank you for reading this far and feel free to comment down any suggestions about my plants I will appreciate it so much.
