Greetings fellow hive gardeners,

It's an exciting day today for me but my kids are the most excited. For so long finally, we were able to harvest our fruit of labour.

If you follow my hive garden blogs you will know what my eggplant has been through before we make it this day. It almost ends up months ago when my dad sprayed it with too much detergent as an insect repellent and forget to rinse it with water after and last month we are hit by the typhoon and made almost all of my plants lay down especially my eggplant that has been covered by the debris.

These past few days it has been raining here and really helping my plant to recover so today I decided to check on my garden and my eggplants which I'm expecting my first harvest.

Honestly, I'm confused if what is something wrong with them, some leaves are withered and I guess there were insects behind them. I'm planning to visit some stores to find some solution for it very soon.

Anyway because I'm already here I made a cleaning, I pull up some weeds and till the soil around my plants.

Earlier today, I was thinking that it could be the best timing to plant so I had replanted some of my seedlings which was my tomatoes and bell peppers.

Also made a check on my water spinach which is striving well and string beans which I'm worried about because it seems not too fine. I admit that I need more effort to cultivate all my plants but I just need some time.

After those, we started harvesting the eggplants for a dish soon. Carlo and Lucas always argued if I do something they like they want to do it themselves so instead, I told them to be very careful with the scissors if they want to do it themselves.

We had collected only 6 pieces of eggplants but hopefully, we can harvest more in the coming weeks because there are still a lot of flowers coming their way but all I have to do is to find solutions for those devastating insects.

For our newly harvested eggplants, I'm still thinking if what dish I would cook for it maybe I'll just saute it or maybe ill be combining it with other veggies and making some healthy soups.

Which will you prefer? 😁

I guess it is just all about today. I will update again soon and hopefully, everything will turn out well.

Happy Gardening and thank you for dropping by.

What a huge field with eggplants. And I grow them in a greenhouse. And your bananas are very good. We do not grow them, but we sell seedlings.

Thanks, actually they are not very healthy a lot of pests are attacking them and I badly need a solution asap. Also, we have been experiencing too much heat as of these days because many tresses have fallen when a typhoon hits us. I'm glad you had noticed the banana they just grow back also and it seems they are doing well.

Thanks for dropping greetings from the Philippines.🙂

:) Nice. I luv eggplant. I eat that a lot. Looks good.. your garden. I tried to grow a few things, but gave up na. :P

Hahaha. talaga? wag agad mag give up. try mo ulit! you understand that right?😅

Those two are my lovely kids.

:P not really. i know as much tagalog as ur boys probably. :P there's always google translate, tho. and lucky for me most all of the pinoy hivers surely speak english good. :)

Love the garden and the eggplants. I usually just fry them and dip in toyo and calamansi for a simple viand dish.

!PIZZA

Thanks! I never tried that. I only used to fry them with eggs and tuyo but I think it would be a nice idea to have a try 🤤.

Myself, I will add chili for more spice. 😁

I'd love to put chillies too. 🤤

PIZZA!

Your garden is sooo beautiful 😍 How do you choose the veggies you plant?

Wow, well done with all of your plant babies. Have you tried making eggplant sisig? 😊

Hello @discoveringarni. Thanks for the appreciation. I never know that eggplants can be cooked as sisig but I think I would love to try it.

You can mix it with tuna for more taste but even eggplants alone with sisig sauce & red onions are good too.

Okay, will try it one of these days Ma'am . Thank you 🙂.

I'm glad that your garden is recovering after that terrible typhoon. The earth looks very rich; perfect for gardening and growing food.

It's lovely that you have your boys involved with your growing. Creating a sense of importance for healthy eating as well as the discipline required for a successful long-term project is great for their development. Well done, Mom!

I vote for a simple saute of the vegetables!

Cheers!

Thank you for your appreciation. I already cooked the eggplants into soup but in the next harvest, ill be sauteing some 🙂.

Thank you for dropping by.
