Slowly getting back to gardening by recycling kitchen waste.

I really can't deny that I have lost a lot of plants in my garden because of the lack of time and care.

As time went by, I gradually realized that it's a waste that knows it helps us a lot when we're short on budget to buy vegetables in the market and it also helps our neighbors or sometimes gives us income even for buying salt because others are insisting on paying for pieces of vegetables.

So since it's been rainy again in these seasons of the year I'll take a chance again in planting vegetables despite my limited time to stay with us in the province because of my work in the city. I will just make sure to update my partner day by day at least by watering them every day when I can't go home every once a week.

And since the seeds I kept were gone because my children and their friends played with them, I had to start looking for new seedlings. Right now, I have started recycling the kitchen waste that I used to cook dishes such as spinach and water spinach.

This is the first batch of water spinach or we call it tangkong in our dialect. In this photo, it's the day I just planted them. They are my kitchen waste from the soup dish I made, it was too much so I decided to plant them anywhere. As you can see they’re not organized, anyway it was not a plan but for sure I know they would grow since water spinach easily thrives anywhere.

And this is my spinach same thing they are the leftovers from a dish I made. I planted them near my moringa because they are climbers and hopefully, they can find support from this tree.

Latest update!

I went home last weekend from my days off from work, and then I decided again to make another soup for supper and got additional water spinach shoots. I kept it until in morning and I decided to plant them. At this time I took my old container and gathered good soil so I could plant them in.

At this time this variety seems like a Chinese water spinach and the previous is the native ones.

Going forward at that moment I also checked on the spinach that I planted a week ago and this is how it looks at now.

With a help couple of rains last week thank God they look amazing now. I also gathered a bamboo stick to make an additional trellis for my spinach.

By the way, before I left I inserted a few sticks into my newly planted water spinach just to make sure that the chicken won’t be stepping on them when I’m away. Hopefully not!

Currently, it’s already been three days ago since I left home for work. I just can’t imagine how excited I am again to check on them when I come back.

Slowly by slowly I will be back on my planting journey and will sure be updating you so soon. Aside from my spinach I also saw a few seeds already that I will be sharing with you.

So that’s it for me today guys. For those who take their valuable time reading this, thank you so much. I will see you around. 😘

Happy gardening everyone. 💛🧡💚

It's so nice that you're back gardening, not only for the crops that you'll reap, but it's a nice way to ground yourself.
Have a nice day:)

It is not easy to plant vegetables again, it takes time and space haha but I hope you have a prosperous harvest 🙏

It helps a lot really when you have lots of vegetables in your backyard. My Mom practiced gardening, and since I was a kid, I haven't seen our family struggled with food to eat because of it, though we lack money sometimes.

Keep it up. You'll reap what you have sowed when it bear fruits in the future.
