It's been raining quite a lot whole day today also...and it's still raining!!!
When having so much rain, specially on an island like Mauritius, we can find many of our crops/fruits/veggies destroyed to high extent...resulting on very high prices on the market!
Well...I am not talking about cyclone yet!!! This is another story!!!
So yes, seeing so much rain these days, I finally got some time to go at the back of my restaurant to look around our fruit trees...
Having rain is good for all plants...but having excess is very bad!!!
I wanted to see their progress too...Overall all the fruit trees are healthy and look like they are enjoying the rains...
A lot of Cherimoya coming up!!!
I have been checking the whole process from flowering till now...just look at how amazing the nature is!
In some days, we will be harvesting a lot of cherimoyas! Have you ever tasted these!?
Starfruit standing strong...
This one has already been giving us sweet star fruits since a week now...and the season will be a long one here!
2nd season for the cherries!!!
We recently had a short season of our local cherry tree and here it goes again...
Small fruits are coming out already...and the rain will be very much of a help in making us having juicy cherries soon!
Guavas too!!!
This one got me by surprise actually...
As I was so busy lately, I just did not have enough time walking around and missed the period when our guava tree was flowering...
This is one of the last flowers left on the tree as the fruits are already formed!
Lastly but not least...our Natal Plum tree!
Oh yes...another one already giving us fruits to use!
We can make pickles with the semi ripe ones and the fully ripe can be turned into yummy jams or coulis!
This is only some of the fruit trees we have...
We also have papaya trees full of fruits whole year round...then also mango trees, avocado, dragon fruit, bananas etc...
Next time I will share the others on a different post!
Overall the fruit trees look very good but with continuous rains or cyclonic weather...then we can lose a lot of our fruits!
This is nature...we never know!
Hoping that you enjoyed this little walk through of some of our fruit trees!
Wish you well!

Cherimoyas. We call that Atis here in the Philippines and it's been so long since I've eaten it. I remember its sweet taste and soft texture.
I also used to eat a lot of starfruit as a kid but lately, I've heard that it's toxic to some people who have kidney problems.
Thanks for sharing those wonderful fruits!
The fruits look great. I would love to have them in my garden. Greetings from the Philippines!
