RE: The Flicker Haven Farm Files-Spring Showers And Flowers

To start with, my rhubarb plants are out of control! Not that I mind, I chuck the extra rhubarb in the freezer for future wine making and comestible baking.

Nice. I love rhubarb too and get some handed off to me come autumn when my friend has a glut. I've got a greenhouse on his allotment where I grow chillis and tomatoes, so he gets some chillis and I get rhubarb 🙂

My mum was trying to grow rhubarb in her back garden and having difficulties which confused me as I've never heard of anyone having a problem growing rhubarb. It seems to grow easily in temperate and northern hemisphere places.

Anyway, I gave her some o the 'ole stink juice' 🤣 old nettle water that I had in a bottle and warned her to take precautions before using it... like only using a cap full in a gallon watering can and not sitting out in the garden the same day unless you can take the pong 😅

Nice to see you growing loads of lovely veg and some flowers too.
All the best 🌿

Ooh a chillis for rhubarb exchange sounds beyond excellent! And I love that you have a greenhouse to grow things in, that is so cool!

I almost died when I read the ole stink juice! I don't have nettles in these parts to ferment into that gloriously horrid smelling concoction but the comfrey tea I make smells about as bad lol lol!

And I have to say, I am impressed! I have never heard of anyone having trouble growing rhubarb in climates like ours either, bet after an application of your nettle nose killer that she's overloaded with stalks now 😆

Hope you are having a splendid weekend!
