Yeah, there have been a few nasty snakes on the street. i think i saw a red bellied black in the garden late last year. and next doors dog got one last month. just lots of browns everywhere. All the neighbours post on our street FB page when they see one so we can get the snake catchers out.
there is a shop called "bugs for bugs" that sends out live ladybugs and lacewings, that eat loads of bugs. we don't get earwigs here though. While as a rule having a good ecosystem is a good start, i like buying in a big batch of bugs at first sign of problems.

im going to get in some lacewings, might help with the citrus leaf miner, and hopefully caterpillars.
Yeah the garden has been great for food over winter!! its so nice to pop out and eat fresh food.
