RE: Start Of August Garden Update

Hey it's all coming along nicely! Did you mean to use 'prognosticate'??? Or was it 'procrastinate' you are after? :P

Sorry I took a while to get to this. You were on my mind and then, you know, life.

That garlic is a great size! Double it next year, and so on! They do like a well prepared soil and make sure you plant the bigger cloves over the small.

I tend to plant a few just to get clumps of their leaves to eat over summer - I pop a whole garlic in the ground (usually a small one) and end up with something like garlic chives. They don't grow big but they are great to eat the leaves.

Sort:

'procrastinate' :)

And thank you. I actually was wondering if I could eat the leaves, when I cut the flowers off they smelt so good! You think I can actually double the size of these? That would be epic to have a softball size garlic

The trick is using well fertilized soil, keep it well weeded, fertilise half way through season, AND USE BIG CLOVES TO START. Fingers crossed!
