Sounds in our garden - HiveGarden Weekly Theme

in HiveGarden2 months ago (edited)

Hello everyone.
Sounds in the garden. Such interesting weekly theme.
There are so many sounds around us. Lets say some of them are more welcome then others. And there is one new sound that is new to the garden. Later in the post I will write about this sound.

Our house is located near the main road so we are not strangers to the car noise.
When it comes to the garden we have two. One is in the front of the house and other on the back.
Garden in the front has fruit trees, some bushes and flowers. I would call this a nice buffer zone for the outside sounds. We have around 20 trees that vary in height - from around 2 meters to 5 or more meters in height. Apples, cherries, pears, plums, figs, grapes and peach are some of the trees. (maybe I missed some).
Here many different birds stop by and you can here their songs during day or in the mornings.
In the back garden are vegetables, greenhouse and more fruit trees and different berry bushes. I think there are more different sounds in the back garden.

We have chicken so rooster crowing is one sound that is there and you can hear it from time to time. And to be more interesting our neighbours have chickens as well so when one rooster crowing stops other rooster crowing starts. They do this in turns.

Our rooster. We have two.

Also in the nearby fields there are wild pheasants and their call is very strong and you can hear them from time to time.

And there is one new sound in our garden. It is ducks quacks.

Several months back we got two duck as a gift. This year there was a lot of slugs in the garden. And ducks are so good for pest control. They go around the garden and look for slugs, bugs and other insects. After some time they made nest and two duckling hatched. Now they are singing quartet.

When ever you approach them they will quack. They expect food and follow you around.
I took these photos today. The young ducks are two in the front. I think they are more curious and parent ducks are more cautious.

Several days back I was checking on the and they were resting. Young ducks were sleeping I think. But when they noticed me they were up.

And ready to quack.

And it does not stop here. I think whenever someone pass along the road they quack. Ducks seems to be good alarm.

This new sound in the garden, ducks quacks, is popular these days.
