Yes Tarzan & Jane is a great thought! And funnily enough Esteban is reading Robin Hood at the moment so asked me yesterday if we could make a scene from the story as a film in the forest. Sure i said, this sounds like a lot of fun and it would be my pleasure to teach him how to make films.
It was a huge amount of effort cutting, dragging, trimming and attaching all that bamboo and i have a much bigger respect now for the Asian cultures which build this way all the time.
Am interested to learn which part of the plant you eat? Can you tell me any more about that?
Itβs a lot of work trying to keep the bamboo groves in neat condition. They grow very fast so I always give bamboo shoots to villagers and others who Iike to eat bamboo shoots. Sometimes I just allow them to search and cut as much bamboo shoots as they want. Poorer families could sell boiled bamboo shoots and make some money. My gardener made pickled bamboo shoots which will keep over a year. So people could have delicious bamboo curry while bamboo shoots are out of season.
You have to boil them in boiling water for ten minutes before cooking bamboo shoots.i
I found a video about bamboo shoots in English. This could be helpful to you, but I donβt know if you have the small or big bamboos in the bamboo forest.
