Vegetable Growth in Two Weeks, Wow! - by Sunscape

The #raisedgarden bed is out of control! Not only have they doubled in size or perhaps tripled in the past two weeks, but I harvested a mid-sized head of broccoli.

This is the raised bed of cold-weather crops and I took this picture on May 12th.

Eight days later, I fertilized the plants and put the insect netting back on to keep the cabbage moths and beetles out.

As you can see on May 29th this onions and cabbage plants are more than doubled in size. I can even see beets forming on the few that I put in.

Here is a close-up of the Chinese cabbage that is getting very large. Soon I will be cutting one down to make some Kimchi. I love fermented cabbage of any kind and am excited to have grown my own.

Once the cabbage is harvested I will plant more beets in those empty spots. I will be making my favorite spiced beets again this year.

The Roma tomatoes in this photo were taken on May 12th shortly after being planted. I inter-planted some Yellow Monster Peppers with them. They tend to get tall and bend over with the heavy peppers, I can tie them up to the panel for support this year.

Here they are on June 5th from the opposite side of the panel. You can see that they are filling in nicely and are already about 1 1/2' tall. Some of them are already setting the first set of flowers.

The garlic in the foreground started turning brown and I cut out some of the scapes to make pesto this week.

In this bed, I planted Orange and Yellow Bell peppers with bunching onions. I took this photo on May 25th after stringing some twine to help give them support when they get taller.

Here is a close-up on June 6th and these peppers are already setting fruit.

The honeybees landed all over the pepper plants after I fertilized them with fish emulsion. I found it interesting that they would like it but they certainly were lapping it up.

hivegarden-vegetables-zucchini-1.jpg

I put a zucchini plant with a few marigolds in a large container. I am hoping that it will keep them from vine borers this year.

I can already see tiny squash forming on the plant. I have one other large container and I think I will plant some seeds in that one as well.

I put a few slicing-type tomatoes into cages and already they are over two feet tall and setting fruit.

I have four of them planted against the house and the eggplant is in front of them. They stalled big time since being planted but I know they will start to grow now that the weather is staying warmer.

Some of the Swiss Chard plants came back from last season and I did pick them for dinner. I just love the bright colors of the rainbow mix.

This will end the post for today as I need to get out and harvest some of the garlic before it rains. Happy gardening to all my friends, may you have an abundant harvest this year.

Ah, thanks, Nina. It won't be long before I start posting about preserving and making meals again. Right now it is all I can do to keep up with the garden chores. lol

Thank you! ♥

That's really amazing and incredible, growing vegetables in your own garden seems to be very amazing and unique. I think you might have explored a lot of things during the growing of the vegetables.

Indeed I have and I am always learning something new.

I appreciate you @ewkaw and the @qurator team, thank you.

Very impressive! Your garden has some magic! The fairies and Elves came out to do their work at night! The greens are exploding at the seams! I would be interested in the tomatos and peppers!

I agree, the fairies and elves are doing their magic. Over the years I have actually caught some of them on camera. I think they love being in the gardens with me. ♥

Oh! Would love to see these magical photos. Long time ago, I went for a long walk in the woods and I got lost. I walked into very dense forest and heard noises of kids playing. I walked straight to the source of the noises, I saw very tiny fairies looking like butterflies around the bush. They were surprised to see a human standing there . They rushed away and flew in all directions. I couldn’t tell whether I was dreaming or it’s really happening to me!
Once I felt a powerful presence on top of a small hill. Then, slowly the white feather on huge wings started to descend slowly. I was shocked by the huge size of the white feather wings. It appeared for a few seconds then it vanished! I was overcome by the size and powerful presence and stood still for a while. I had no idea how to interpret the incident.

Those are some precious moments that stay with you for lifetimes. You can see the magic that happens in other realms because you believe in them. The feather incident was just for you to experience the grand essence that guides you. How wonderful for you to feel and see such beautiful love. ♥

Sigh…. But I will catch up….

Yes, you will!!! With all the rain lately the plants are growing so fast. I have to tie some more twine on the peppers before they start fruiting. I hope you're feeling stronger.

Not really stronger but determined to not waste these gorgeous days!

Love all your crops, they all look very healthy.

Thank you, @afterglow I do my best with mother nature to keep them healthy and happy.

You're welcome, have a nice day ahead.

You are so diligent! Got this far in the cultivation process. Here it has been raining constantly for 14 days, during which about 10 degrees Celsius.

Wow, that is a lot of rain. We have had some every few days and the plants are growing so fast. I can barely keep up with supporting them in between raindrops. lol
