The Dwarf Iris that I transplanted early this spring just started blooming. The other varieties have already finished and this beauty is just getting started.
There is something special about this flower. Perhaps it is her translucent appearance when the sunlight shines on her in the morning.
In another year or two the clump should increase nicely and I can move some of the rhizomes to another area of the garden.
The Alliums are still blooming here and there but I have cut most of the tall stalks down this week.
The Wigelia bush is heavily laden with pink and white flowers, and I bet the hummingbirds enjoy them.
My favorite weeping shrub the Deutzia Magician is also blooming. I think the hard frost we had back in April damaged the early buds. There are only a few branches that have flowers on them this year.
The Columbine are reaching their peak this week and I have cut back some of them already as I don't want them reseeding everywhere.
I like the color of this pink one and would like a few more so I will save the seeds from her.
This perennial Cornflower is also in full bloom and I have a feeling it will be finished by the weekend.
I staked the Lupine spikes this week because we expected high winds and heavy rain. I remember last year how the rain caused them all to bend to the ground and they never recovered. This time I was prepared and they are standing strong.
I purchased this Fushia hanging basket for the hummingbirds and two blossoms opened. I love the contrasting colors on this one.
My fav! This orange Azalea blooms its heart out every year outside my kitchen window. It is stunning!
I should take time to clone it as I see small shoots coming up around the base. It would be nice to have another one on the property.
Lastly, I have to share the bleeding heart to send some loving vibes to all my friends. Happy Gardening!
Until next time, this is Sunscape
Sun. Scape. Ing Your Day
Some garden there 😀
Thank you!
I love your garden, it's full of very beautiful and colourful flowers in bloom. The azaleas from your kitchen window is really enough to light up one's day.
Exactly, my husband was commenting on how beautiful the Azalea is while washing the dishes.
Wonderful flowers, many are my favorites too and I have them in my little garden.
The azalea is beautiful and very large, I have never seen one so large.
What's Blooming This Week is an excellent idea to share your flowers with us. Thank you!
Thank you, @bluemoon I do love to share what's blooming each week as everything comes and goes so fast. The Orange Azalea is always stunning and I have had it for over 25 years.
Well, 25 years! That explains both the size and the beauty.
Congratulations. The flowers bloom beautifully. 😊 It's my first time seeing the Dwarf Iris flower.😊
Hi @fixyetbroken That dwarf Iris is one of my favorite flowers for late spring. She is just beautiful.
I agree. 😊😊 Hope I can see more of it .😊
Impressive these flowers, the colors and their shape, I have never seen them before, they are majestic 😍
The orange Azalea is my favorite, what a beautiful orange color ❤️
Thank you, @elbuhito the orange Azalea is my favorite too.
That's beautiful @sunscape you have beautiful violet tones in your garden.
Thank you. I love all the shades of violet flowers and can't wait to see the summer flowers emerge.
All stunning beauties! The dwarf iris is so captivating, their scent must be amazing.
I appreciate your comment, I do love the flowers and the dwarf Iris is stunning.
I would never have guessed that purple columbine was one! Such a different flower! And that azalea! What color! No wonder you're contemplating a second one. I should probably have staked my lupines as we are in the middle of a day long rainstorm...
Yeah, I think that is a tower Columbine if I remember correctly. I have had it for many years now. You are getting the rain we just had but nicer weather is coming. My Lupines survived nicely with the stakes. I need to get out and tie up some tomatoes as they are getting tall now. There is always so much to do this time of year. ♥
No kidding!
Wow! Such colorful garden! These flowers cheer me up! Butterflies must be very happy.!
