I'm so glad to finally be able to return to Hive from this unexpectedly long hiatus (the past 2 months were filled with medical emergencies, a lot of backlogged work and commitments). Long Story Short: Todas las fotos de este post las tomé hace 2 meses, pero apenas hoy me siento mejor para editar todo. Todo este tiempo me moría de emoción por compartir el resultado de algo en lo que estuve invirtiendo mucho cariño. Además, todas las fotos las tome en un día de jardinería que planifique con propósitos terapéuticos.
Long Story Short: All the photos in this post were taken 2 months ago, but I'm just now feeling better about editing everything. All this time I was dying with excitement to share the result of something that I've been investing a lot of love into. Also, all the photos were taken on a day of gardening that I planned for therapeutic purposes.
• 𝕋ℍ𝔼ℝ𝔸ℙ𝔼𝕌𝕋𝕀ℂ 𝔾𝔸ℝ𝔻𝔼ℕ𝕀ℕ𝔾 𝔻𝔸𝕐 •

Hace 9 meses (ahora 11) comencé un proyecto de reproducción de 3 tipos de plantas que me gustan mucho (𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐇𝐚𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐢 y 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐢) por todos los beneficios para la salud que ofrecen.
De estos 3 tipos, 2 fueron un regalo de una vecina (𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 y 𝐇𝐚𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐢) a la que quiero mucho y siempre es muy buena conmigo.
9 months ago (now 11) I started a breeding project of 3 types of plants that I really like (𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐇𝐚𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐢 and 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐢) for all the health benefits they offer.
Of these 3 types, 2 were a gift from a neighbor (𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 and 𝐇𝐚𝐚𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐢𝐢) whom I love very much and she is always very gently to me.
• The plants could no longer breathe, they were too tightly pressed against each other •
Noté que en la parte trasera de la casa de un vecino que se fue del país hace 3 años, había una enorme maceta con muchas plantas sofocadas, algunas muriendo por falta de agua, y otras pudriéndose 😭
Sentí mucha pena y quería salvarlas, pero no me atrevo ni loca a poner pie en el espacio de otra persona sin su permiso.
Así que conseguí el número de teléfono de la persona que cuidaba la casa, y me dieron permiso de entrar y llevarme las plantas 🌿 ✨
Después del exitoso rescate, dedique un día entero a abrir una zanja en forma de “L” en el jardín de mi casa, abone la tierra, y acomode todas las plantas en una bonita secuencia.
I noticed that at the back of the house of a neighbor who left the country 3 years ago, there was a huge pot with many suffocated plants, some dying from lack of water, and others rotting 😭
I felt very sorry and wanted to save them, but I don't dare in my wildest dreams to set foot in someone else's space without their permission.
So I got the phone number of the person who was taking care of the house, and they gave me permission to go in and take the plants 🌿 ✨
After the successful rescue, I spent a whole day to open an "L" shaped trench in the garden of my house, fertilize the soil, and arrange all the plants in a nice sequence.

9 meses después, pueden observar en las fotos de arriba todos los hijos que tuvieron estas mama planta. ¡Son muchísimas!
Ese día humedecí la tierra, coloque una lona pequeña de plástico a un lado, tome un cuchillo limpio y mis guantes de jardinería, y comencé a extraer las plantas nuevas con mucho cuidado.
9 months later, you can see in the pictures above all the children that these mama plants had. There are so many of them!
That day I moistened the soil, put a small plastic tarp aside, took a clean knife and my gardening gloves, and started to pull out the new plants very carefully.
Todas resultaron muy sanas. Pero debo acotar que no todas se reprodujeron por igual (las 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐢 notaran que tuvo pocos hijos comparadas a sus compañeras).
All of them turned out to be very healthy. But I must point out that not all of them reproduced equally (the 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐢 will notice that she had few offspring compared to her companions).
Actualmente estoy en un entredicho porque personas que vienen de visita me piden que les regale la variante de 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐢, es la que más les gusta, pero son mis favoritas y toma mucho tiempo para generar nuevas (ASI QUE FINJO DEMENCIA).
I am currently in a conundrum because people who come to visit ask me to give them the 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐢 variant, it is the one they like the most, but they are my favorites and it takes a long time to generate new ones 🙃
Después de sacarlas del jardín y asegurarme de que las plantas madres pudieran respirar con su nuevo espacio, moví todo a la parte trasera de mi casa. Estuve hasta las 2am preparando tierra nueva con abono y buen drenaje en unas macetas de segunda mano, y otras nuevas que estuve guardando para ese momento. Fueron horas en silencio que necesitaba, no me sentía bien, y tocar tierra siempre me ayuda a recuperarme o mejorar mis estados de ánimo 🙏 🌊
After removing them from the garden and making sure the mother plants could breathe with their new space, I moved everything to the back of my house. I was up until 2am preparing new soil with compost and good drainage in some second hand pots, and some new ones that I was saving for that time. Those were hours in silence that I needed, I wasn't feeling well, and touching soil always helps me recover or improve my moods 🙏 🌊

The next day I took all the plants out in their new containers to get some sun, although newly transplanted plants should not get strong sun directly 🔥 🚫
Some people prefer to wait for the bulb or root to heal to be transplanted, but since the heat in my city is sweltering I preferred to plant them at once.
I placed some of my favorites in the window frame at the front entrance. They looked great!

Sin embargo, me quedaron muchísimas más en una gran bandeja de metal. Estas las reserve para compartirlas con mis vecinos, y para plantar alrededor de la palma del jardín (eso lo hice unos días más tarde).
También pensé que sería buena idea regalarlas a la Dirección de Condominio para que los jardineros las agregaran en algún área común. Pero me arrepentí a último momento porque (momento hater) aquí hay muchos niños horriblemente destructivos y maleducados que destruyen por diversión las plantas de los jardines comunitarios.
Pensar que mis bebes serian pisoteadas fue suficiente para decidir quedármelas y ubicarlas dentro de casa.
However, I had many, many more left in a large metal tray. These I set aside to share with my neighbors, and to plant around the palm garden (I did that a few days later).
I also thought it would be a good idea to give them to the Condo Management for the gardeners to add them to some common area. But I regretted it at the last minute because (hater moment) there are a lot of horribly destructive and rude kids here who destroy plants in the community gardens for fun.
The thought of my babies being trampled was enough for me to decide to keep them and place them indoors.

Son pocas las especies de plantas las que toleran este clima, así que estoy profundamente feliz de haber conseguido reproducir una de las pocas especies que no solo soporta este calor inclemente, sino también este suelo de arcilla roja (si, la tierra en la zona donde vivo es ARCILLA ROJA) 😅 🥀 💔
My goal is to keep reproducing this beautiful species to decorate not only the outside and the second floor of the house (especially the dining room and stairs), but also my new room, and thus enjoy all its wonderful benefits 🌱 ✅
There are few plant species that tolerate this climate, so I am deeply happy that I have managed to reproduce one of the few species that not only withstands this inclement heat, but also this red clay soil (yes, the soil in the area where I live is RED CLAY) 😅 🥀 💔
