Rambutan, a fruit typical of the city of Binjai

in HiveGarden • 3 days ago

Hello friends in Hive garden Community 💕💕💕 I am happy to be able to contribute again to the gardening community, I haven't contributed for a few months because I was sick. So I am very happy to be able to join again.

In July to September in our city of Binjai, there is a rambutan fruit season and sometimes there are also those that bear fruit in December to January. If we are lucky in a year we can get rambutan fruit in July and also January.

Rambutan is a tropical fruit that usually bears fruit during the summer. This fruit has a distinctive sweet taste. When young, the fruit is green, then within two months it will turn yellow. When the rambutan fruit is yellow, it can be eaten but the taste is not very good. After turning yellow, the rambutan fruit will start to turn red. This is the best time to enjoy rambutan fruit. The sweetness will increase when the rambutan fruit is redder. But many people prefer to enjoy rambutan fruit that is not too red, because the redder it is, the more water content it will have.

It seems that this year I am lucky enough to be able to harvest rambutan twice in a year. Last July I harvested rambutan and today I can still harvest it again. Not all rambutan orchard owners are as lucky as I am, because rambutans usually only bear fruit once a year.

In Indonesia, my city is nicknamed the city of Rambutan, because the Rambutan produced from our city (Binjai) is a rambutan that is langang and sweet. Many garden owners from other areas deliberately come to our city to buy rambutan seeds typical of the city of Binjai.

This is the last rambutan fruit in my garden, but I am very happy to be able to enjoy this sweet rambutan fruit in January.

Rambutan fruit from our city is famous for its large fruit, small seeds, not too much water content and most importantly its sweet taste. It is not surprising that rambutan fruit is always sought after as a typical souvenir from Binjai city.

The best way to plant rambutan trees is by grafting and budding. When we plant with seeds, we will get rambutan trees that take a long time to bear fruit. Rambutan trees planted with seeds will also have tall trees and few branches, so when the rambutan bears fruit we will have difficulty harvesting it.

This red-haired fruit tastes as sweet as sugar and is refreshing because it contains enough water, therefore this rambutan fruit is more fun to eat in hot weather.

I have a fun way to enjoy sweet and fresh rambutan fruit. I immediately split the rambutan fruit with my teeth, the white and fresh rambutan fruit is immediately visible.

I will miss this rambutan fruit, because I will only find it in my garden in July.

It's great if you have a rambutan tree at home, you can eat as much as you like hehe

Oh my, they grow so well and beautifully, we also have Rambutan here in Philippines but it just ended. Seeing this made me miss it 🤤🤤. So cool you have your own Tree of Rambutan.

It has been very nice.
