Namaste!
Just 3 days ago I shared with you this amazing and I guess the most affordable grow bag, the idea of which came to my mind especially for growing root vegetables because in this type of rectangular pot root vegetables get more space to grow.
That day I had sown carrot seeds in another grow bag which was already prepared and since there was a delay that day, the next day I sowed radish seeds in the newly prepared grow bag. By the way, for the sake of update, let me tell you that even till the 4th day today, there has been no germination in the carrot seeds and this is totally normal because it takes about 3 weeks for the carrot seeds to germinate.
And today we are going to sow radish seeds. Actually, this is the second time I am growing radish. Earlier, last year, I had sown carrots and radishes almost at the same time and the harvesting of both was so good, the only difference was that at that time I had no idea of making such grow bags, so I grew 4-6 radishes in normal cone shaped plastic pots, but this time I am going to grow radishes properly in a separate big grow bag. 🪴
As far as we talked about in the blog of sowing carrots, I will tell you the whole process one step back from that so that everything is easy to understand and you do not make any mistakes in case you are planning to grow radishes at home.
Remember in the last 2 steps of preparing the grow bag, I made 2 holes in the grow bag with the help of something like a hot iron stick and placed the leftover Diwali diyas upside down on it so that the extra water could drain easily from that place.
After that, I collected dry leaves from every plant in my garden and spread them on the bottom as the first layer of this grow bag. Dry leaves keep the soil organically enriched and add nutrients from the ground itself as well as it keep the moisture retained in the soil, so this is an important step.
After this, I started filling the bag with the prepared soil mix. Not only for radish but for almost all root vegetables, the soil mix should be well-drained, slightly sandy and light because it helps the roots to develop easily.
Just like the bag prepared for carrots, I filled this bag too leaving about 3 inches from the top. Initially, I made half to 1-inch deep holes with my index finger at the same gap of about 3 inches. But then my wife taunted me for being over greedy and said that there will be no benefit in planting so many seeds close to each other, if the radishes collide with each other during their development phase then it will also affect their size and you may get more radishes but it is possible that their size will be of peanuts. 💔
So I controlled my greed a little and increased the gap by half an inch and made new holes again and put 2 seeds in each of them. 2 seeds in each hole because we don't know how many of them will germinate, so for the safer side it is always better that you plant more than one seed.❤️🩹
After that, I covered these seeds with a light layer of soil mix and watered them. And now, I just have to wait for the germination of these seeds which will hopefully happen in the next 5 to 7 days. Yes, carrot seeds can take up to 3 weeks to germinate but radish seeds take just 3-5 days to come out of the soil. 🪴
I hope you have learned something from my blog and at the same time you have enjoyed reading it. We will meet further in the journey of germination of these seeds and then their growth. 🙏
I hope you liked my gardening!😊

You’re very good gardener. You made your own grow bag!!
Good luck with your planting projects. I failed with carrots last year! They were very tiny!
Thank you for appreciating my gardening, friend! :)
For your last year's carrots result I would say, we should keep trying until we learn this is the way we move forward in life. So you should try this year as well. I hope we both will harvest bigger and better carrots this time! 🥕😊
Growing your own vegetables is such a great idea and a great way to save some money. I’m looking forward for your updates in your carrot and radish plants! I hope you have a fruitful harvest.
I will surely post their growth journey here :)
Thank you for appreciating my garden! Have a lovely day

Uske saamne mera wala obviously badsurat dikhega😅 par 5 rupay se bhi kam mein bankar taiyaar ho gaya mera wala.
Depends on size... minimum ek 70 rs ka pda
Iske liye to aap wala idea try krege 😛
Haan ye sahi hai. Par mere wale bags dekhne mein shayad utne acche na lagein par kaam waisa hi karenge to happy gardening! 😊
Bilkul...hume to gardening se matlab h 😀
