Welcome to a new post, dear Hiver!

A good weather has already passed, our topochos plant grows and now has the time to harvest its fruits. So I will tell you this beautiful experience.

It is the first time there are topchos at home. There were previously Cambur plants, which is a bit different from the topocho.

The topocho is small and fat. While bananas are usually a little thinner and elongated. In addition, the topocho when green is salty. Until its flavor is mature and changes.

In other countries the cambur (as we call it in Venezuela) is known as plátano (Spain, Bolivia, Chile, Mexico and other countries). And as guineo in Cuba and El Salvador. It is also commonly known as banana.

While topocho, which is a kind of banana, only that it is salty when it is green and here in Venezuela it is usually consumed as a vegetable in soups. It is known as plátano, moroca, and other ways. How do they know him in your country?

The waiting adventure began in August, when we went to the courtyard to play with the dog and saw how the topochos began to form.

Day after day we were going to see them. And watch that everything was fine.

Until November 5. When after getting up and going to the patio like every morning I see the plant fell on the ground.

The truth is the first time I see one of these plants fall. Mom says it was because of the weight of the cluster, and I thought it was for a monkey that the neighbors have and crazy the dog at night.

I took a large knife we have at home, and I went to cut it.

I wanted to wait for mom to come, but, you would be in danger. My dog is a bit disastrous, so I could destroy the cluster just to play with him.

I recorded a little with my phone, and I told my sister to finish the recording while I cut the cluster.

It was easy to cut, at least from my point of view. And quite heavy.

We took him home, so that when Mom and her husband arrived, they would guide him on the roof. We usually put all the green Cambur clusters there, in this way they mature with the heat, we also prevent them from "hinder" in the kitchen. Our house is small, so anything can seem like a giant if it is in a bad place.

The positive part of the topocchos is that we can eat them now, or, wait for them to mature and be sweet.

For the moments we are going to eat them little by little. Mom already made soup with some of them.

And I will eat some at tonight's dinner made with water. I like them a lot.

This is one of the things that I love most to sow, be able to harvest and eat everything you sow with your own hands. Satisfaction is indescribable.

Without a doubt, plants are a perfect creation of God. I hope soon bring you more news, because we also sow bananas and soon we will reap them.

I want me luck, and that the weather is my side to have more fruits in my garden.

El verdadero "bendecido y afortunado", me encantan los tostones, lo mejor de lo mejor!

I can imagine the enormous satisfaction of being able to eat something that you grew and harvested with your own hands and if it tastes delicious, even better 😋

That's how it is :)
