Lady Blinkwing: My Latest Character Sketch

in Draw A Daylast month

It’s been one of those days where I just couldn’t stop drawing eyes—and somehow, that led to the creation of Lady Blinkwing! What started as a fun doodle of glasses and exaggerated eyes turned into this fabulous, confident character who feels like she’s ready to take on the world (in high heels, no less).

The Inspiration Behind Lady Blinkwing

Honestly, I’ve always loved drawing eyes. They bring so much expression and life to a character. Today, I found myself going all out with the big, bold eyes and adding some dramatic glasses into the mix, and before I knew it, Lady Blinkwing was born. I imagine her as a stylish, no-nonsense figure, maybe even a bit mysterious, with a bit of a “don’t mess with me” attitude—but all in a fun way, of course.

A Quick Sketch Full of Personality

Like with Count Mosquella, this started as a quick sketch, but once I started adding details (like those amazing boots and that flowy cape-like outfit), the character really took shape. Lady Blinkwing feels like someone who always knows exactly where she’s going and does it with flair. Maybe she’s an elegant overseer of some fantastical world, or just someone who knows how to rock a giant pair of glasses with confidence.

What do you all think of Lady Blinkwing? Should I explore more characters in this style? I’d love to hear your thoughts, so drop a comment below and make sure to follow along for more of these spontaneous creations.

Lady Blinkwing and Count Mosquella might just be the start of a whole new world!
