This piece started out as a way to explore the contrast between the natural world and the man-made one. I was drawn to the way the two potted plants seemed to burst out of their containers, their leaves reaching for the light despite being confined. The wall, on the other hand, is a solid, unchanging presence. It’s a symbol of the limitations we all face, but also of the strength and resilience that can allow us to overcome them.

I used a variety of colors and textures to create a sense of depth and dimension. The green of the plants is fresh and vibrant, while the browns and grays of the wall are more muted. I also used a lot of hatching and cross-hatching to create a sense of movement and energy.

Overall, I’m happy with the way this piece turned out. I think it’s a successful exploration of the themes I was interested in, and I hope it resonates with viewers as well.
