Hello, community!
I’m back in the Philippines for a short break, mainly to celebrate the holidays. As soon as I arrived home, the first thing I did was declutter. It’s become a habit for me. As usual, there were tons of things to sort out. Decluttering is always the hardest because people tend to hold onto things, even when they no longer work or aren’t needed.
But over time, I’ve learned that letting go of unnecessary stuff has its benefits. It clears space—not just physically, but mentally too. Still, I know this is an ongoing process, and my vacation isn’t long enough to tackle everything. Plus, I don’t want to spend all my time here cleaning!
Last night, during the Noche Buena feast, I was with my family. We started the night by hearing Mass at a nearby church, and then we gathered for dinner. For those who don’t know, Noche Buena is the traditional dinner we have on the 24th of December, just before Christmas Day.
One of the highlights for me was enjoying a Pinoy delicacy I’ve missed so much—a Kapampangan favorite called tibuk-tibuk. It’s sweet, creamy, and nutty, and it’s one of my absolute favorites. There was plenty of food on the table, but I’ve been more careful lately with what and when I eat for the sake of my health.
To all my friends and everyone in this community, I want to take a moment to wish you a very Merry Christmas. Whether you’re with family, friends, or spending it quietly, I hope this season brings you joy and peace. Let’s cherish the moments that matter—whether it’s enjoying good food, reconnecting with loved ones, or even taking a step back to rest and reflect. Wherever you are, may your heart be full and your holiday season bright. Sending you all love and warmth this Christmas!
