Expenses, maintenance and investment.
As a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) I have noticed that clients are always very aware of the income, profits, prices of their products or services they offer but few focus on expenses, fixed costs or even variable costs.
Now from my position as an entrepreneur, being the leader of the Vinotinto Athletic Union Academy, I take into account all of the above, that is, beyond being very aware of the income and the rate of delinquency of collections, I am also very clear that it is very important to be very aware of the expenses and costs associated with my activity, which in the end if we look at it from the type of activity, my industry is the sports service.
It could be believed that the service does not generate expenses or that they are very short of little importance but it is not so as a buying and selling or manufacturing activity also in the service that we offer we present important expenses, case of it is the one shown in the following photographs:
And is that the maintenance of the sports field in which we make life is of utmost importance and even vital for us, we have practically a premium court in a really popular and low-income area which if we look at this combination is not very homogeneous and therefore complicated that everything can be covered with the payments that only makes the academy for the maintenance of the court.
Taking this into account, I have decided to call on the community that also plays sports on the field at night to leave a monetary contribution for the maintenance of the field.
In this way I have been able to cover and take responsibility for reinforcing the fences, painting the goals that were rusting and demarcating the field with spray paint.
All this has not been easy to carry, also among the fixed costs I must count with the fact of paying the salaries to the coaches who support me in the training of the boys, among the variable expenses is the fact that for example and I put a case happened during this weekend, we had to go to several friendly games away from home and with it we had to pay tickets, Well in my planning was the idea of requesting only 40 bs round trip tickets for the boys and then due to my own ignorance in the prices of the tickets, I had to pay 10 bs more to cover the tickets because each round trip ticket was 50 bs and not 40 bs as I had budgeted, so this is a kind of variable expense which I could not escape because as a representative of the academy I had to assume it.
So I believe from my experience both as a Public Accountant and now as a project leader that yes, you have to be aware of the income and the ways to generate benefits for the project, but never neglect the costs and expenses, identify them, project them if possible, assume them and prepare financially to face them.
There will always be solutions, but the issue is really to choose well which of the solutions we are going to take.
Gastos, mantenimiento e inversión.
Como Contador Público me he percatado que los clientes siempre están muy al pendiente de los ingresos, las utilidades, los precios de sus productos o servicios que ofrecen pero pocos se enfocan en los gastos, en los costos fijos o incluso los costos variables.
Ahora desde mi postura como emprendedor, siendo el líder de la Academia Unión Atlética Vinotinto, tengo muy en cuenta todo lo anteriormente dicho, es decir, más allá de estar muy al pendiente de los ingresos y de la tasa de morosidad de cobros también tengo muy claro que es muy importante estar muy al pendiente de los gastos y los costos asociados a mi actividad, que al final si lo vemos desde el tipo de actividad, mi ramo es el servicio deportivo.
Se podría creer que el servicio no genera gastos o que son muy cortos de poca importancia pero no es así tal como una actividad de compra-venta o de manufactura también en el servicio que ofrecemos se nos presenta gastos importantes, caso de ello es el mostrado en las siguientes fotografías:
Y es que el mantenimiento de la cancha deportiva en la cual hacemos vida es de suma importancia e incluso vital para nosotros, tenemos prácticamente una cancha premium en una zona realmente popular y de bajos recursos lo cual si nos ponemos a ver esta combinación no es muy homogénea y por ende complicada de que todo se pueda cubrir con los pagos que solo hace la academia para el mantenimiento de la cancha.
Tomando en cuenta esto, he decidido convocar a la comunidad que también hace vida deportiva en la cancha en horas de la noche a que dejen una colaboración monetaria para el mantenimiento de la misma.
De esta forma he podido cubrir y hacerme responsable de hacerle el refuerzo a la cercas, pintar las porterías que estaba oxidándose y demarcar el campo con pintura de spray.
Todo esto no ha sido sencillo de llevar, también entre los costos fijos debo contar con el hecho de pagar los sueldos a los entrenadores que me apoyan en la formación de los chicos, entre los gastos variables está el hecho de que por ejemplo y pongo un caso sucedido durante este fin de semana, debimos salir a varios juegos amistosos fuera de casa y con ello tuvimos que pagar pasajes, bueno en mi planificación estuvo la idea de solicitar solo 40bs de pasaje ida y vuelta para los muchachos y luego por mi propia ignorancia en los precios de los pasajes, debí pagar 10 bs de más para cubrir los pasajes ya que cada pasaje ida y vuelta salía en 50bs y no en 40bs como lo había presupuestado, entonces esto es digamos una especie de gasto variable del cual no pude escapar porqué como representante de la academia debí asumirlo.
De tal modo creo desde mi experiencia tanto como Contador Público como ahora líder de un proyecto que si, hay que estar pendiente de los ingresos y las formas de generar beneficios para el proyecto, pero no descuidar nunca los costos y los gastos, identificarlos, proyectarlos de ser posible, asumirlos y prepararse financieramente para afrontarlos.
Siempre existirán soluciones, pero el tema es realmente elegir bien cual de las soluciones vamos a tomar.
