Good day, hivers! Wow, what a wonderful time to enjoy life with you – amazing bloggers here. I am grateful for this opportunity that I can share with you our Third Wedding Anniversary Celebration. I hope you will find it interesting and exciting as well.
Before I will start, if you have read my previous blogs, I did not expect to become a wife and a mother. Why? It is because I wanted to become a nun. My fate did not go that way. It brought me to a different path and that was the contrary, but I do not have regrets, with God’s grace everything is good. That is why if sometimes God did not hear our prayers, it is because He prepares something better for us.
By the way, my husband is from the southern part of Cebu, and me from the northern part. So, who would expect that our paths will cross along the way, right? Well, everything happens for a purpose, God knows I needed someone like him so in designed ways I met him. Honestly, we have known each other for a shorter time but I realized it is not how many years that matter, it is the sincerity and the willingness/readiness to be committed. I only believed and trusted my instinct that HE IS THE ONE.
Last November 11, 2017, was the first time I knew his name (through Facebook). He was introduced to me by my special friend. Since then, he kept on sending messages, but I am not fun of entertaining guys online which is why I told him that I only spend my time with you when you went home (he is an overseas Filipino worker). In February 2018, he went back home. The following month, which is March, we met each other for the very first time.
Guess what? The moment I saw him (gosh!) indescribable feelings though (yay!) but no expectations I simply enjoyed his company. He visited the place where I grew up and met my grandmother (I am thankful that my grandmother liked him). Until one day I told him that I will be going to Dubai the next month for a vacation (alone). Unexpectedly, without knowing (of course) he proposed to me last April 13, 2018. Honestly, I do not know what to do, at the back of my mind on the next day I am about to leave, and then what if he might propose to another girl (what a loss)?
So, after a moment of silence, I said “YES.” May 16, 2019, was our wedding day, the moment that we’re waiting for. It was an intimate wedding, just my family and friends together with his family and friends as well. On that day, while walking along the aisle I thought I would cry but it did not happen. I just thought that every bride would do that because that is what I have observed at every wedding that I have attended its tears of joy of course. What I felt during that moment was my happiest, there is no room for tears. All the glory and credit to God for having our most memorable day.
Honestly, we did not have the chance to celebrate our first and second anniversaries because he was away for work. Supposedly, his contract was only one year but due to the pandemic then there is a lockdown, and it was extended to another year despite it I understand and am so grateful for having a very responsible and hardworking husband. He is the breadwinner of his family which is why he got married in his late 30s. He has 6 younger siblings and let his 4 younger siblings finish their studies first before getting married after which they had an agreement that these 4 siblings who already finished their studies and have work already will be the ones to take charge of the remaining 2 siblings in their studies. So, he can focus on his own family (which is our family).
The year 2022 is the right moment to celebrate it. At first, we went to Simala, one of the spots in the south where there are so many devotees who will go there. We’re praying and hoping for more years to celebrate as a couple, and we will stay in good health as well. I know temptations are always there but if God is the center of your relationship nothing bad happens and both of you can resist temptations. We had also the chance to visit his family and spend some time together.
We had booked a room in Bai Hotel where we stayed only for a night and enjoy the moment there just the three of us. It was the first time that our son has experienced an outdoor activity. Since children are not allowed to go outside because of COVID-19. As parents, we also want to make sure that everything is safe for the benefit of everybody. My husband is so particular when it comes to that.
Finally, we went to SM Seaside where there is a place for children. We let our son enjoy and play there for almost 3 hours. We were very happy looking at our son who has had so much fun, at least our son was able to experience this one in his childhood. For sure when he is old and looks back at these pictures, he will be the happiest. Time flies so fast, and as long we can, we will give everything that our son deserves to have (with God’s grace).
In life, what lies ahead is a mystery to unfold but what is important is how you live your life and how you treat other people. Remember, what you did to your fellowmen you did it to the Lord. THIS! Many people think that because couples are still early in the relationship, it won't work. The number of years being together doesn't really matter - a couple being in a relationship for a long time could go on separate ways and we've seen that, celebrities or not, popular and iconic people or not.
