Hello, my fellow hiver friends. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share my life story with you and to talk about the things I am doing, like my small businesses. From burger stalls to satay stalls, it’s been a journey. But today, I want to share another small venture, one that I run from home while taking care of my kids. This business allows me to stay busy without feeling bored doing the same thing. When our company went bankrupt during the COVID-19 pandemic, both my husband and I were struggling. We were finding it hard to provide for our family.
Eventually, my husband started driving for Lalamove, a delivery service similar to Grab, helping people move things from one place to another. One day, he came home excitedly telling me about a big factory supplier for meat that he had discovered. At the time, I was just listening to him, trying to process everything in my mind.
The next day, I had an idea. I told my husband I wanted to sell pork meat from home, at least to generate some income. He agreed, so we bought a freezer and a vacuum machine. We stocked up on meat, created a catalogue for online marketing, and started posting on Facebook. When people clicked on the posts, they were redirected to our WhatsApp catalogue where they could order directly and message us.
This journey has been going on for four years now. During special seasons like Christmas or Chinese New Year, I run online ads. But I have also built a loyal customer base that orders from me twice a week. Many of them refer me to their friends and family. Over time, we also started making sausages ourselves, with 20 different flavors, some of which we don't post online because clients, including a mart chain with 10 outlets in Malaysia, buy them wholesale.
Next, I'll share the story of how we built our sausage business from scratch. It’s been a real learning experience, and I hope my story inspires you as much as your experiences inspire me. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I welcome any comments or thoughts you may have. Let’s continue sharing and supporting one another!

Wow! An inspiring story. The challenging time turned into a successful venture. Kudos to you and to your husband.👏
Thank you, it is a small passive income but better than nothing, At my age of 40's all I can say I have enough of experience bad and good all I have experience and my 5 children they have so many things they can remember me.
You're welcome! It can instill in their mind your hard work, resilience and adaptability to any situation and that's your legacy 😊
With my husband help, that's why very important to have a supportive husband or partner in life.
True! Specially the encouragement that they gave during challenging times.
Yes, how hard is the life in this world if we have someone in our life that supportive and always beside us.
And success becomes more meaningful when both of you share the journey. God Bless!
That was also one of my goal this year, to have a business like yours ma'am. Your story was very inspiring. I hope I could also achieved that.
That's the reason why I share because I know so many house wife want to stay at home to be hands on to our family, while making a passive income. Hope this will make you have more idea, and don't be scare to start even the smallest business, the capital some people is scared if they lost the capital and won't success, but the mindset is not how you earn back the capital it's how you going to do it and market find customers. Then the sales and earnings is to follow. When starting business you always think that the money capital is not wasted because you don't spent to buy unnecessary things, you put on the business, if the business prosper you will have no ending income. But if you buy just unnecessary things the money you will never earn back.
It's incredible how you turned a tough situation into a successful business while balancing family life. Your decision to start selling pork meat from home during the pandemic shows your creativity and determination. It's awesome that you've built a loyal customer base and even began making sausages with special flavors. Your hard work and perseverance are truly inspiring.
The best thing is my husband is so creative I wanted to make a chorizo Pilipino style, but he also made a chorizo Italian style then that the start we never stop creating new flavour until we get busy to our burger stall, so we decided to stop to the 20 flavours.
