Hi, I am Arveno and i am from Surabaya city Indonesia. I want to make content about Lunar New Year. But before that i will claimed that i am afraid my family picture is misused. Thats why i change my family picture face to be AI. Hopefuly this not make me broke the rule. And For chinese people out there that celebrating Lunar New Year. I wish you Happy Lunar New year 2025.
As a descendant of Chinese people my family still using old Chinese Tradition (in good way). It kinda same when we are celebrating New Year. But, whats make different is we gives money to relation that not married yet. But that will different each family. But, my family still doing that way. Every Lunar New Year always like that. And We the young people need to go to the elder. To show respects to the elder. But in my opinion and my common sense. Yeah as we grew older what we need is family in the end. We are happy gathering with family. But, not the young ones. Especially Teenager ones. I still remember how i dislike this tradition. I am not close to my Grandparents thats why i dislike when we are forced to go there. But, as i grew older. I realized that this tradition is really need to preserve. My parents will grew older, and i dont know when they can't move freely again by aging. That why i think me and my brother need to regularly visiting them. And the best time is when celebrating Lunar New Year. When i was kid the only makes me happy when Lunar New Year is i got the money from elder and i can bought PS1 Cd with that money or i can buy TCG like Pokemon or Yugi Oh cards. And if i think back now. It is like i got paid to accompany the elderly. Is that make sense??
But, yeah right now after having a kid. I am feel that when i am old i want to get visited by my kid and my grandkid. So, i can order some food and we can eat together while telling story when we separated. It is kinda fun.
And this year, we are not together. My parents goes to my Grandmother that living in different island. So, it will make me and my brother did not going to my parents house. And this year the Lunar New Year is close to Universal New Year. And i cannot going back freely since i am still working on my business. And i cannot close the shop any time soon. It will broke my customer trust. And it will be bad for my reputation.
I realized now why gathering on Lunar New Year is important. Just in case if we are cannot meet up again with the elderly. At least we ever met them and giving the best memory to them and also we have memory with them before passed away. The other reason is we can knowing each other update for their live. Especially when we are living in different city or islands.
And this year i feel lonely cannot gathering together at Lunar New Year. But, my parents still need to stop by in my home when he travel back from airport. They cannot directly to their hometown since no plane directly go to my Hometown. So, they still need to stay one day to take a rest first before going back to their home. And maybe that is the best chance to swipe the Lunar New Year event. And yeah best time to make memory with them. If only i can wish something. I want my parent not grewing old.
