Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this week's challenge is about local environmental problems, something that plagues many of us living in Southeast Asia.
🏭 Local Environmental Problems 🚯
👨💻 Week #133 👩💻
November 11th ➡️ November 18th, 2024Smog, trash, pollution, rabies, there are different environmental problems in Southeast Asia depending on where you live. In urban areas things like smog, brake dust, and even noise pollution areas of concern, but in rural areas things like trash disposal and potable water are often the local environmental problems. Here in Cambodia rabies is something not to be overlooked as well, and there is still a large part of the human population not yet vaccinated.
Dioxin from burning plastic waste is a big issue in my village, especially when mothers hold their newborn babies directly over the cancerous smoke while poking the fire with a stick. Providing education and awareness often isn't enough, but the younger generations seem more prepared to tackle these issues the folks before them. For this challenge please highlight any local environmental problems and also any possible solutions that you can think of.
Week #132 ASEAN Hive Challenge Winners
🍿 Late Night Snacks 🍕
🍿 Late Night Snacks 🍕
This challenge saw a lot of incredible entries ranging from the healthy and smart snack choices to the sinful and indulgent late night choices. One thing I have learned about the Philippines is not only do fried chicken and spaghetti belong together, but also cheese and instant noodles. I highly recommend you explore the following winning entries, they're all worthy of your taste buds.
1st Prize 🏆 10% Beneficiary & 150 Ecency Points

I rarely do that "late night snack" thing, most of the time I just ignore my hunger when I get hungry at night. Or if not, I will just take a cup of water and go back to sleep. I'd rather just wait in the morning to come and have my breakfast than eat late at night. I'm the type that can still sleep well even with a rumbling stomach. Am I the only one here? But recently, because I take dinner as early as 5 pm, sometimes even 4:30, I really get hungry late at night and I have no other choice but to grab some food.

Having a midnight or late-night snack isn’t unusual in my family, so I don't need to hide or be careful not to wake other family members up when I get hungry late at night. We used to even prepare for our midnight or late-night snack back then. It was mostly sweets or chips at that time. We sometimes even buy cake in advance from some of the cake shop nearby. If we happen to go to SM Seaside, we also buy some cake from our favorite shop called Leona.

Since I practiced intermittent fasting wayback 2023 I avoided late snacks because usually I end my food intake at 2:00 pm in the afternoon then I eat or take my coffee at 8:00 so, fasting for 18 hrs with only water as intake in between. But, because this Challenge is about Late Snack I will share my favorite snacks I munched in the past yrs, recalling my bad habits...First on my list were fried peanuts I usually fry using coconut oil with a dash of rock salt.
