Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this week's challenge is all about rice flour, an ingredient that can be found in most Southeast Asian kitchens, and it can be used to make so many things.
🥮 Rice Flour Snacks & Desserts 🍮
👨💻 Week #97 👩💻
February 19th ➡️ February 26th, 2024This challenge is a chance for you either cook or run out to the streets and grab some rice flour treats from a local vendor. Rice flour snacks and desserts are found all over SE Asia, but for this challenge things are not limited to SE Asia, rice flour snacks and desserts from anywhere in the world are welcome. Each country has its own unique assortment of rice flour jellies, desserts, snacks, and cakes, and I hope to see good examples of that in the entries submitted.
Make some treats yourself and share your recipe or simply show us some things from your local vendors and tell us about the ingredients, flavors, price, etc. You can even show us a vendor stall selling various things, that would be really interesting for folks outside your country to see. Okay, I think that explains things clearly, apologies for this week's challenge being a little late.

There were some pretty entertaining and informative entries for this challenge, and everything from classic cars to more modern forms of public transport. Cyclos, motorbikes, sidecars, and so many more ways to move around can be found in the winning posts. There is even a little artwork to be found if you dive in and read.

Perhaps amazingly the samlors have hung on and still ferry the elder generation around the market. The younger generation all use their own motorbikes. The samlor riders are all as old as their trikes and I suspect the tradition will fade away with them. And with them will die the personal touch of people who know all the routes, all the shops and almost all the people.

Yesterday, my mama asked me to run an errand to the nearby pharmacy which is also a convenience store. It's just around five minutes on foot from our place, so I decided to take it as a chance to take some photos I could share for this week's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #96. This week, we're tasked to show some TRANSPORTATION in our area, so I did just that. Let's start!

It's another beautiful day to share my post here in Asean Hive, and this is my second entry for the challenge this year. I saw the challenge on @justineparke's post, so I didn't waste any time in joining. I remember capturing pictures of my daughter riding in a vintage vehicle soldier jeep from Bukidnon the last time. It was not ours; it was owned by the company, and they informed me that it is still workable to drive.

Congratulations to the transportation winners of the week. New theme agai, hope I can submit an entry I have in mind about the rice flour.
Yes, I am not sure this challenge was a hit, perhaps I should've titled it "jellies" instead. Well, there is always a new challenge to work on, perhaps the new one will have greater participation. Thank you 🙏

Lovely recipe, Cambodians also like to reheat things in banana leaves on the grill.
