I think those plastic chairs are pretty much a staple in all bowling alleys around the world and they are always in crap condition. Maybe your regular dollars at the place helped pay for the upgrades! The alley I used to play at didn't have electronic scoring so we had to learn to do it manually. The old people always looked over our shoulder to make sure we weren't cheating!

oh I remember when manual scoring was the only way that it could be done. If there was a score display it was one of those overhead projector type things that we had in school.
It is pretty remarkable how many of the DUMBO members don't really understand how the scoring actually works. There is one guy that has actually been the chammpion once that asks me every week how strikes and spares score. He still doesn't get it but to be fair he is a little dim witted in most other regards as well.
That is funny about the guy and score. It took us a little bit to get the hang of it, but once we had it we were good. I might be a little rusty today, but I would likely pick it back up fairly easily.
