I only use slang around my nieces like that because it gets a laugh out of them. Sometimes they are even impressed that I throw out the right word at the right time. I was never one of the cool kids even back in school, so trying to capture that again is irrelevant to me!

As far as I can tell age isn't really that much of a factor over here for the locals but then again, I have made very little effort to get involved in the culture in this country.
Being overseas for as long as I have, it takes a long time for the English slang to make it to me unless I see it online. "no cap" was something that took me a while to understand, but it still isn't something I would say in a conversation, it just makes you look like you are trying too hard.
That's one of those that I say occasionally just to be funny. "Bet" is the one that had my scratching my head for a while. I'm not sure I still use it right with my nieces, but then again, I don't really use it that much anyway!
well "Bet" is something that became part of the pop-culture vocabulary in the 90's so it is just fine if you say that.
