Hello,hiverrrrrs!It's been a while.
It's great to be here again sharing with you what I've made for brunch.I have a lot of my plate lately, that I don't have time to eat breakfast.
I'm really famished at that time,so I decided to cook some food.I hardly have any ingredients left so I try to find something interesting to cook.Guess what I found?Rice.A leftover rice.Initially,I don't have a freaking idea how to make it yummy.I'm just so clueless and hungry.
For those who don't have any idea,I would like to share with you that rice is life for Filipinos like me.Haha.It's really hard to let go of this. As this is our main source of energy.Sometimes,we don't care we don't have any viand(fish, meat, or vegetables)to pair with rice, as long as we have rice it's enough. There are times we want to pair it with soy sauce and oil to make it scrumptious. You read it right haha.It maybe weird for you but we are used to it.We like it very much though.
Every meal,we do have rice. We can't live without it. For those health conscious, yes,we know it's unhealthy to eat a lot of it but it's how it is.
Now,I'm going to tell you how I made it extra special for brunch.
First,of course we need a leftover rice.
I prepared some ingredients which are available on my end.Like bacon strips, diced onions(optional),and mixed vegetables.
To make it savory of course we need seasonings like soy sauce, oyster sauce, olive oil (optional), a small portion of butter, pepper and salt to taste.
I'm always like this with my bacon. I usually put some water, a little bit of it to boil my bacon and help it to oil up.As it helps the bacon to grease, you can also use it to cook other food.
But at that moment,I used it to fry my mixed vegetables and onions.Stir and wait.
When you think it's about time to put the rice, mix it with them and put a small portion of butter.Honestly, you don't have to put butter on it. It's greasy already because of the bacon's oil but, I preferred that way.Lastly,I put all the seasonings needed for savory taste.
Voila! Here's my leftover rice turned to a magical brunch.I paired it with Kimchi(a korean dish of spicy pickled cabbage).
You must try!
How about you? How do you elevate the flavor of your leftover rice into a delicious meal?
Thank you everyone for reading my blog. Have a great day!!Hugs
Thank you so much @asean.hive community for having me here.
Seriously! Rice is life. I didn't tried that toyo with oil, but I love toyomansi more eh. With just that I can eat it with just rice. Anyways, nakakagutom toooo, mukhang masarap pagkakaluton🤤🤤✨
Indeed, rice is a staple food for most of us! Our energy and concentration are affected if our day goes by without consuming rice. No matter how simple the main dish or the viand is, it can already be filling as long as it is paired with rice. We don't waste rice at home, so we also cook our leftover rice this way. Nowadays, the price of rice has increased tremendously. However, this doesn't affect our consumption.
