For a long time, I’ve wanted to share my story—one that I believe is worth telling. My journey has shaped me, and I hope it can inspire and motivate others to keep pushing forward, no matter how tough life gets. But before diving into my story, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to @antonette for introducing me to Hive community. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
I’m excited to write about my life experiences and lessons learned along the way. This is a space I trust, and I believe my words will reach and inspire many people. I’d love for us to stay connected, so feel free to follow along! My goal is to provide valuable insights—especially about winning in life—because no matter how hard things get, there’s always a way to move forward and succeed. The Seed of a Dream
I was born on February 10, 1985, into a poor family. At just 7 years old, the seed of my dream began to sprout—I wanted to break the cycle of poverty in my family.
Growing up, I felt the struggles of not having enough. There were days when having three meals a day was a challenge, and that lack affected my sense of happiness. At a young age, I also witnessed an unhappy home. My parents often fought, and their arguments were always about money.
Because of this, I made a promise to myself—I would finish my studies and find a great job so I could earn enough to give my family a better life.
Growing with Hopes and Dreams
I held on tightly to my dreams of getting an education, but life had other plans. When I was 15, my parents separated, and everything I knew began to shift. My dreams that once filled me with hope started to fade, replaced by worries and anxiety.
After graduating from high school, I faced the harsh reality of financial struggles that prevented me from continuing to college. At the same time, my mother left without a trace, and for 17 years, my siblings and I had no idea where she was. Both of my parents had their reasons for their decisions, but I didn’t have the luxury of dwelling on them—I had to keep moving forward.
But in my darkest moments, I found light. I turned to inspirational books and the Bible, which provided me with the strength to keep believing that I could change my story. Prayer became my weapon—a powerful tool to keep fighting and holding onto hope.
At just 17 years old, I became both a mother and father to my siblings. I took on the responsibility of providing for them, and to survive, I started working as a saleslady. For the next 13 years, I dedicated myself to supporting my family.
In 2010, I married Joven Ubaub, a man who has stood by my side through both emotional and financial challenges, especially in caring for our family. Together, we have been blessed with two wonderful children—Vienish Novey (14) and Vince Nathan (5). They are my greatest inspiration, giving me the strength to keep moving forward despite life's obstacles.
By 2013, I made a life-changing decision—I decided to finally build a life of my own. I resigned from my job and ventured into entrepreneurship, a journey filled with both triumphs and setbacks.
My Journey of Resilience: From Business to ESL Teaching and Beyond
By 2015, I had become an exclusive distributor of Nanusci, Inc. products, including Spirulina Filipina , and even established my own center. Through this business, I was able to continue my college education at Capitol University, and in 2019, I reached a major personal milestone—graduating from college.
However, life took an unexpected turn. In 2021, I faced a devastating scam, and the years 2022-2023 became some of the most challenging of my life. Our business had to close, and we accumulated a debt so overwhelming that it felt impossible to repay, no matter how hard we worked. Despite these hardships, I refused to be defeated. Instead, I chose to focus on my children, drawing strength from them. I also found comfort and purpose by actively serving in our church, where I am a dedicated choir member, part of the Greeters and Ushers Collectors Ministry, and an engaged member of Banal na Pag-aaral.
Resilience and a New Chapter
The hardships we faced left me feeling depressed and hopeless, but my faith and hope gave me the strength to rise above them.
I bounced back emotionally, finding a new path in ESL teaching in late 2024. Teaching has given me a renewed sense of purpose, allowing me to help others while continuously learning and growing.
Beyond teaching, I am also venturing into Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming, a sustainable initiative that helps the community by converting food waste into organic fertilizer and producing BSF larvae as animal feed.
Now, in 2025, I’ve expanded my journey by joining Elken International Philippines, where I found a great mentor and an excellent business model. Lastly, becoming part of the Hive community has made me even more excited for the future. This marks a fresh start—a new chapter filled with opportunities, growth, and meaningful connections.

I believe in the power of community and collaboration, and I’m excited to engage with people who are also striving for growth and success. Along the way, I will be sharing my journey of overcoming challenges and how I bounced back to rebuild my life.
