Its currently the lunar new year, I thought i do not want to spoil the mood for the rest of the community. My aunt passed away last Friday and it was a major issue as not many of the mortuary house willing to take in cases like this.
Thanks to the hospice care that willing to help us fixed up the funeral for my aunt. Things went well and we have all those required documentation done. Aunt no longer need an autopsy as she's already terminally ill.
They prepared her body well. I can see that they hace glued her eyes and her mouth as i can see the seems are being "pacthed". I guess i know why, and its good to at least keep her body presentable for viewing. We the family are thankful for a closure that is long due.
Not many turn up to the wake service. Since the family had stopped going to church, it seems not many church friend come for visit as well. Some of our relatives came, ofher remained superstitious, not even a phone call.
We wanted to send her body for cremetion, but the government facility is overbooked. It seems people are dying faster than they gave birth since the vaccine being introduced.
Fortunately, we still managed to find a privately owned cremation facility. In goes her body out came the fragments. We didn't know what to do with it, my cousin decided to give her a proper send off by griding down the bone fragments to fine dust, bury it into the ground so it helps to nutralize the earth.
I'm surprised by even such a simpky burial ceremony would set us back 2800. Seriously, we don't even own that ground. Technically, its just a small patch of the earth that they don't even allow us to put flower.
Now that after this experience, i am a little puzzled. I heard Catholics doesn't allow cremation. Reason being, to prepare the body foe judgement day.
Now, God is great and powerful, i can't imagine during the judgement day, God is the one who jump around and shouting at the souls and ask "where is your body?"
I mean, this is at its best for superstition. Human mind is just way too narrow to understand God. We use our own understanding to measure what God can do and what God can't do. Until now, humans are still guessing what is behind the black hole.
I understand the context of "from there he will come to judge the living and the dead", but I don't believe human have rhe concept of how the judgement to be conducted. Use your imagineation, the supreme being came down from a UFO, bunch of living thing standing in line awaiting dor judgement, and the show "Thriller" came alive with bunch of zombies digging themselves up from the grave. Is that how Catholics perceive it?
I don't really love the protestants in terms of praise and worships, but sometimes i just love it when they make more sense than the Roman Catholics. In this case, i truly think putting my aunt back to the earth and let her circulate her body for the benefit of life is way better option.
sorry for your loss man. If I'm not mistaken, when stuff like this happens, the family skips celebrating Chinese New Year right because my cousins gf family grandma pass so they didn't celebrate instead they went to germany for vacation
Welp, religion is one thing, tradition is another. Religious wise, there's nothing to be afraid of. Traditionally, these kinda stuff are bad for the celebrant. I don't blame the rest of the family NOT attending the wake nor funeral service, I'm just feeling saddened by the untimely death of my aunt during the festive season.

Sorry for your loss, we have our loss too my husband's brother-in-law passed away last January 20 this year. It's really difficult during this times.
