Random Day in Cebu, Philippines

This blog is about my experience as a day of becoming a joiner, or someone who does accompanying for a day to just want to get out and wander. I got up early to prepare my things, eat, wash and get dressed so that I could be with them. My mom and my sister are getting ready for the day. Then I accompanied them to wherever they were going.

After that, I knew that we were going to sm seaside to renew my sister's passport. I expected it to take a long time to process, so my mom and I headed to the department store to get something to eat while we waited for my sister. She later finished it by the time we got back. When we left we waited for the mybus for us to go on of where we going. The wonderful thing about sm seaside is that they have a particular bus service that provides a safe and comfortable ride experience around Cebu. As you can see in the picture, it is truly like Japan, and with this modern service, we may one day match Japan in terms of public bus transit.

At The Cebu Provincial Capitol

We went to the Cebu Provincial Capitol, which serves as the center of the Cebu Provincial Government in the Philippines. It is located at Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City. I only went past the Capitol but never tries to go inside that massive structure. But now, I have finally entered there and the mini museum immediately drew my attention as you enter the building. We had a good time spotting things in the artwork and reading the captions on it.

At The Carbon Market

Afterwards, we went to the carbon market, which is the oldest and largest market in Cebu City. My sister and I were craving some street foods because it has been a long time since last ate street food. The last time was when before Pandemic. Then we heard that there is a newly opened night market at the carbon market on ML Quezon Boulevard, Barangay Ermita, Cebu City. According to what I have read, it's a Carbon Market night shopping experience with plenty of food stalls and market options to give you the whole Cebuano market experience. But we were disappointed, as there was nothing on the so-called food street in carbon when we arrived. However, I discovered that this shopping and eating festival is open every Sunday from 6 p.m. until 10 pm only. Unfortunately, it wasn't Sunday when we went there, but the nice thing about Cebu City is that there is always a street food vendor wherever we pass by. So, we when we passed by a quail egg and tempura vendor, we bought 3 pieces of each. We still enjoyed the food.

I think, this new Carbon Market is better than it was. Has it been renovated? Looks clean and organize now.

Yes, we saw several changes that make the area look nicer.

Ohhhhh Carbon! I love doing my zerowaste food shopping there. I miss Cebu so much. It was easier to navigate my lifestyle when I was living there. 😥

When you return to Cebu, there are several places worth visiting.
