Good day hivers, hope all is well and happy. Two weeks ago I have been craving for Korean food, since 2017 I have been exposed to different kinds of Korean food because it's my boss's favourite and of course he is a Korean National. At first, I really don't understand the taste of it but eventually without knowing I fall in love with it and so with the Korean vibes! I am supposed to visit Korea last year but with the Pandemic crisis, It was canceled but will be rescheduling soon when everything is back to normal.
So here's some of my Samgyusal moment:
MATJIB RESTOBAR (Kusina ni Mars), is located at Basak Lapu - Lapu City right across Savers Depot. They offer a variety of choices from Filipino to Korean food, if not everyone is into Samgyupsal they offer buttered shrimp, pasta, battered & fried chicken, and short meals too. Their unlimited Samgyusal is at Php 299 / person with a glass of ice tea, the place is cozy with a live band performing every night how cool is that. What I love most at Matjib besides the live band, is their version of kimchi it has a twist of Filipino sweetness and it is soo good to pair with cold "sujo". I had a great time with my colleagues, I will rate 8/10 for satisfaction and the price is just right.
MIGAG KOREAN BARBEQUE HOUSE Minganilla, they open I think a month ago but we just tried it last week with the hubby and kids. My daughter @kcwonders was looking forward to trying Samgupsal, so I give in. The place is good since it's just near our house and we can bring along our dog (leo), and what excites me is that kids below 12 years old are to dine in for "free" amazing right? They served pork & chicken, i was a bit shocked that chicken serving is more than pork but because kids are hungry I started cooking. My daughters were so excited to try it for the first time, the pork was good but the chicken since it's marinated it's kinda salty. They love the sidings and the kimchi tastes the same with Matjib it's sweet. I will rate them 5/10, service was poor at the price of Php 299/person.
The best Korean food I had was in Manila, I can't recall the resto's name but it was really a 10/10 experience... Well, that's it for today! Stay tuned on my next blog where love, life, and all-betweens are just around the corner waiting to be exposed.
I seldom eat Korean food. But after reading your post, i feel like having Korean food for today's lunch 😁
You should try sometime, im sure you'll gonna love it! 😉
Looks like a cool place, I fell in love with Korean food while living in Cambodia. I am a vegan, and because there are so much fish products in Korean dishes, I never had any luck requesting veganized dishes in the USA. However, in Cambodia, there are many affordable Korean restaurants, and it is because thousands of Cambodians work in Korean factories in Seoul often for 15+ years, and when they return to Cambodia they miss Korean food sometimes.
When I found a Korean restaurant in Cambodia that made all the dishes from scratch, the chef said he could veganize anything, and the first dish I wanted to try was Doenjang-Jjigae, a fermented spicy soup, and it's now one of my favorite dishes.
Lucky you! Hahahahha. Veganized Korean food is so good!
Yes! Tried it also, with thier vegan soup.. Lami sad sya.. Hehe
Korean food is amazing, its everywhere! Good combination of veggies, meat and spices 😋
