I am lucky to live in a part of this city where there are very few stray dogs and the ones that do exist are friendly and basically all the neighbors give them food, water, and even the occasional bath. Other areas in this city are not so fortunate. I don't know how we got so lucky. It's probably because this suburb that I live in is surrounded on all sides by massive highways that "new entries" cannot possibly cross.

There are similar exception areas in Krabi as well and this can be from a number of factors such as highways or communities that have large fences around them and only one way in and out.
That's great that your area kind of looks after the street dogs there though, I wish more areas here would do like that.
