Its been a long time since I went out by myself to spend my rest day from work. Usually, I just stay at home to do the laundry, or I go home to our province to help my mother take care of my grandma or go out with friends.
A week ago, I went to church to attend a mass. I sincerely ask for strength and guidance from above with all of what's going on in my life right now, His presence is what I really need. Mix problems were just too overwhelming to me, I thought I couldn't handle them but thankfully, I'm here, still fighting back life because its only short to live. 💪🙏🏻
Right after, my cousin and I agreed to meet up in the afternoon so I went to one of the famous markets now here in the city, The Barracks Carbon Market.
The Barracks had its grand launching last May 12, 2023 adjacent to the Freedom Park monument, in front of a well known University school in Cebu City, (USJR).
At The Barracks, food options are on display, from native Cebuano food like tuslob buwa, to street food options. Non-food products are also available, including phone accessories, headphones and other products. Personally, this is my kind of happy place. 😍😄
I'm really delighted I came up with this idea. After the mass, I had no notion where to go. But when I thought about eating, this establishment came to mind right away. Also because of few viral videos of this market is all over the social media convincing a lot of people to come dine and visit.
I am very astounded by the external design and the accent it provides to the public. It appears exotic to me and rather distinctive, given that the site is not a private one. Prior to this, the site was a public market with a slew of vendor stalls selling nearly everything. This is the Freedom Park, which was originally where strange flowers were sold, as far as I recall. And now it has been assigned the right location in accordance with its designation. Well done, mayor Rama. Keep it up.
I enjoyed my time while strolling around the food market. I can't help but to droll while Im waiting for my cousin to arrive. She's still working hence I am alone. I got a little bit hungry so I bought this japanese cake with chocolate and cheese as filling. It was yum as always and only cost 40 pesos for 3pcs.
Later that afternoon, my cousin @spontaenousobber arrived and we had our early dinner together. She chose the Tuslob Buwa "Dip in bubles" and cheesy scallops for our foods. While I took care of our drinks, I bought Mango Shakes.
This isn't the first time we tried the "dip in bubbles" Tuslob buwa, but I can say that this one has its own taste. Your 150 pesos is worth it. The scallops with melted butter and cheese on top, it's our first time eating it and surprisingly it didn't disappoint us. For only 100 pesos with 20pcs of scallops, we enjoyed it so far that my cousin didn't realize she had eaten almost all of them. 🤣
I know I posted about Carbon Market here before, but this is only the small portion of Carbon Market that has renovated. The renovation is still on going. I'm looking forward for a greener, cleaner and much more organize biggest public market in Cebu soon.
That's it for a well spent rest day hivers. Hope you all have a great day!🥰✨
