While parked outside the 2,2500៛ store in Pramaoy I looked to my left and saw a myriad of pimple popping photos on a signboard next to the street.
🚚 Pramaoy Has Gone Modern 🚮
While on a trip to Pramaoy, the nearest town with a vegetable market about an hour's drive from our house, I noticed that the town now has a trash truck service. Most towns in Cambodia have no trash collection services or landfills of any kind, especially if the towns are not provincial capitals, so it was quite surprising to see a green trash truck roaming around town. We now finally have a place we can bring our garbage and know it will somewhat responsibly dealt with.
In the USA there are dollar stores, and here in Cambodia there 2,500៛ stores, a price that is roughly 62 cents USD. We stopped at this shop to grab a few odds and ends like welding glasses and notebooks, but this time I decided to stay in the tuk-tuk and snap some pics instead of going inside. I took a shot across the street, noticed the garbage truck approaching, but I failed to see the most obvious thing nearly within arm's reach of my tuk-tuk.
Just as I was about to do a full 360 degree view, the trash truck arrived, things got stinky, I got distracted and took some trash truck pics. But not long after the truck left I was back to scanning the horizon for Hive content to share with you all. That's when I turned my head to the left and realized I parked in front of the town pimple popper.

I immediately discarded the bowl of marinara sauce I was sipping and began looking at all the pimple pics on the signboard next to me. In most countries you wouldn't see such confronting images, well, at least without before and after shots. After struggling to keep down the two rolls of sushi I just ate, I looked up and noticed there are a few pics of someone with a blemish-free face. Apparently you can come in here as a Cambodian woman with a face full of pimples and leave as a white western woman with blonde hair, a pretty impressive service.

After we finished our shopping trip and headed back towards the mountains, we arrived to an active construction site and the one and only ChairWoman Meow, our communist kitty that believes in 16 hours of sleep a day for all living creatures. Ms. Meow is luckily pimple-free or I'd have to take her to Pramaoy to get popped.

All of our first floor footers have been poured and now some of the castings are being removed. It is exciting to watch the progress, but also troubling to watch entire life's savings get used up in a few months, It seems my 40 years on Earth is valued equally to a modest two-story 12mx6m home in Cambodia. Do good in school kids and go to university, otherwise you might end up like me, something 95% of folks probably wouldn't be okay with.
Even our Cambodian family members think we are nuts for living here in the middle of nowhere, but our 3 years stranded abroad in Suriname during the pandemic really made us lose faith in humanity, and now I no longer desire to be surrounded by my fellow humans. Things often go wrong in Cambodia, so I will not be excited about our house until it's actually done because the government can always throw a wrench in your plans until you give them money for any reason they may come up with.

That is a typical of Asean Countries, but I am sure in the coming years , Cambodia will gain its progress. Indonesia a few years ago like in Cambodia, but today it is different. The power of social media is very strong. There is a term in our contry " No Viral No Justice" . Now social media is better controller than political party.
I agree with the "No Viral No Justice," that is often the only way the government will stop doing bad things and/or stop people from doing bad things.
And I thought I had bad acne, in the past! That is plain nasty
and I am curious if they provide the service pain free?
Otherwise I would call it torture.
Don't listen to the above advice kids. Uni is just a money making machine that often leaves graduates with a huge debt that might haunt them for ages.

Even now I still tell my nieces and nephews in the USA that they should go to university in Germany or some other country that won't leave them with a lifetime of debt. I would dare to bet you can get a 4-year degree in pimple popping here in Cambodia 😄😄😄
Debts might not be as insane here as in The USA but they can still be pretty crippling ( just ask me ) and make you feel inferior/ worthless/ like a loser for a long, long time, despite being graduated.
That pimple popping degree must be one of the nastiest degrees ever.
If I had gone to university for pimple popping, I wouldn't be in this financial mess to begin with 😄

If I wouldn't have gone to Uni, I might not have had a debt, nor worked dozens of jobs that I hated and I probably would not have ended up in crypto ;>)
In as much as school is important kids, don't forget to learn an in demand skills, it is a very important spice you would need along the way.

I agree, a university education alone may leave one with only one skillset, so it's good to know as many things as possible so there are many open doors. Luckily Meow doesn't need any formal education 😄
Progress is going quite fast sir. I bet in no time it will finished up soon.
I hope to see it finished some day, hopefully before spring 2024.
