1, 2, and 3 are how I survive, although my online Cambodian lessons died out when the borders closed. I remember not knowing how I would survive when I sold everything and fled to Cambodia in 2010. All the foreigners said they used to be an English teacher, with a connotation that it's now a job below them.

I was a poor manual laborer before I went to Cambodia, and teaching was never going to be an option for me in my country. When I finally got hired, it was life-changing experience, I and went from poverty to comfort in only a few months. I still love this job and it also led to me teaching Khmer to foreign residents. Despite the negative things many foreigners might say about ESL jobs, I for one absolutely love teaching.
