Hello everyone. Today it's Wat Dong Pak Care's turn to host a northern Thai tradition (slakkapat tradition). The tradition of the offering dedicated food, necessary things and money to monks in the temple and monks from other temples who come to participate in rituals at the temple that hosts the traditional (slakkapat), With the condition that each monk will draw lots to receive food, necessary things and money from each person who makes merit.
So me and my wife visit the ceremony of this tradition at this temple today too. This year we visited and joined in the slakkapat tradition at many temples in our district and nearby districts. But we chose to go to a temple that is interesting in our district and nearby districts. And the Wat Dong Pak care is another interesting temple in Fang District (our district).
There is no information on what year the Wat Dong Pak care was built. But this temple was built hundreds of years ago and used to be an abandoned temple. The temple was later renovated and established as a temple in A.D. 2011.
When me and my wife arrived the temple. We make merit and pay respect to the buddha image first. Then we walked around the temple. This temple has many beautiful architectures. Highlights of the temple are the ordination hall (ubosot) and buddha image hall (viharn), which are entirely made of teak. But the ordination hall (ubosot) is not open to visitors inside. So I took pictures only of the outside of the ordination hall (ubosot).
The ordination hall (ubosot) is made entirely of teak and decorated with carved patterns in the original Lanna art style. Area front of the ordination hall (ubosot) is an entrance staircase with two three-headed serpent sculptures between the entrance stairs.
The buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple is made entirely from teak and decorated with carved patterns in the original Lanna art style as well. But the entrance staircase does not have a serpent sculpture like the ordination hall (ubosot) or other temples.
Inside the buddha image hall (viharn) there are 3 large and 1 small buddha statues. There is no inside decoration of the buddha image hall (viharn) except that behind the Buddha statues there are carved patterns and painted color gold. And inside the temple at that time the monks were receiving offering dedicated from people who had come to joined the tradition ceremony.
The pagoda of this temple is a large and tall color gold pagoda with a polygonal shape. The highlight of this pagoda is the many small pagodas surrounding the large pagoda. These small pagodas are modeled from the thai zodiac pagodas.
Inside the temple there is also a small pavilion made entirely from teak and decorated with carved patterns in the original Lanna art style 1 more pavilion. The entrance railings on the left and right sides of the pavilion have sculptures with the head similar of the elephant but the tail of the serpent. And the inside of the pavilion is simple and has no patterns. There were only so many buddha statues in the pavilion.
Other atmosphere in the temple.
The atmosphere of the tradition event at the temple today. There money trees and necessary things of village people who come to join in tradition ceremonies. To wait for the monks to perform religious ceremonies and draw lots to receive these money trees and necessary things. And plastic baskets of other temples to receive offerings in tents.
Thai traditional show at the traditional event today.
Today there are many thai traditional dancers from many villages coming to show thai traditional dances at the temple. Me amd my wife like to watch thai traditional dance, Look enjoy and beautiful.
Thai traditional parade.
The some shops selling at the temple today.
