Visit the temple on mountain among nature, Chiang Mai, Thailand : Wat Phra That Pu Kam.

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITYyesterday

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post I take a friends to a place to meditation retreat or temple without royal bound Buddhist stone in Chiang Dao District. This temple is called Wat Phra That Pu Kam. Wat Phra That Pu Kam is a temple without royal bound Buddhist stone among nature on a mountain. There is no information on when this temple was built.
My wife and I visited this temple at the late January. We traveled on highway 107 from our district (Fang District) to Chiang Dao District. And travel on highway 1178 in Chiang Dao District until Sop Ngai Village, Mueang Ngai Subdistrict.

The some atmosphere on the highway on this journey.

The entrance arch to Sop Ngai village.

When reaching a mountain where the temple is located. We can walk up the stairs or drive up the mountain. But we chose to drive up the mountain.

When we reached the top of the mountain. We passed the section containing the monks' living quarters first. But I didn't take a photos this area. And the highlights of this temple are 3 highlights.

The first highlight is the pagoda. When we pass through the section containing the monks' living quarters, we will see this pagoda. This pagoda is called Wat Phra That Pu Kam. This pagoda is a polygonal pagoda with a bell-shaped and tiered top.
There is a staircase with two serpent statues on the railing. And there are two statues of giants in the staircase area. In addition, on the base of the pagoda are two statues of serpent too. And there is a statue of Buddha on the base.

The second highlight is the large buddha image. This Buddha image is called Phraphuth Jayanti Sri Muang Ngai. This Phraphuth Jayanti Sri Muang Ngai is buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara. And the buddha image is 19 meters tall.

The base of the large buddha image is in the shape of a lotus. Inside the base is a mini buddha image hall.

And there are also adeniums in pots around the large buddha image.

The third highlight is the viewpoint. Of course this temple is on a mountain. We can see the views and atmosphere of the area below. Which is the views and atmosphere in the countryside of Mueang Ngai Subdistrict. I think friends will like it. It was a great view and atmosphere. And we like it very much.

There are also two small pavilions inside the temple. The first pavilion has a statue of King Naresuan the Great. King in the Ayutthaya period of the country.

The second pavilion has statues of the former village headman who built this temple.

This temple has no ordination hall (ubosot) and buddha image hall (viharn). Although this temple is a small temple. But we really like and enjoy this temple. And it was a good new experience for us on another trip to visit the temple.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
