Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post I take everyone to see another temple in northern Thailand. Of course my wife and I also intend to visit every temple in our country and share the temples with everyone. And this trip is still at a temple in Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. This temple is called Wat Klang Thung. This temple has the same name as the temple in my district. But Wat Klang Thung in Chiang Dao District is a new temple. In addition to my wife and I like and fascinated by the beautiful of temples, we also like to study information about the temples we visit. And this temple too. But since this temple is new, there is no interesting information. Wat Klang Thung in Chiang Dao District is the common monastery. This temple received permission to establish itself as a temple in AD 2006 or 19 years ago. But the temple still has no information about the royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.
This temple is a rural temple and has not as much architecture as the temples in the city. I will take friends to see the atmosphere in the temple.
Wat Klang Thung is along highway 1178. We could see the temple's arch and two giant statues in the distance before reaching the temple. Looks outstanding and beautiful.
This arch is made of wood and has a roof like the buddha image hall (viharn) or the ordination hall (ubosot). And 2 large giant statues made of bricks and spread cement on bricks, beautifully decorated with stucco patterns.
The temple sign is located on the roadside. Temple sign made of bricks and spread cement on bricks.
When we past the arch, it is a courtyard first. There is also a pond. And there are two large serpent statues near this pond.
When we walked through this courtyard, we saw a large white pavilion. In front of the pavilion there is a statue of Ganesha.
To the right of this pavilion are many large buddha images. These buddha images are made like ancient buddha images.
When we walk past the white pavilion and these buddha images, it is the section containing the place of worship and section containing the monks' living quarters. Sacred architecture in this temple includes a buddha image hall (viharn) and a buddha image pavilion.
The temple's buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks and spread cement on bricks. And painted white, decorated with stucco patterns in the northern Thai (Lanna) style. The stairs in front of this buddha image hall (viharn) have two serpent statues on the railing.
Beside the buddha image hall (viharn) is a large buddha image pavilion. This large buddha image pavilion is not yet complete. Inside the buddha image pavilion is a large white buddha image. This buddha image is a buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara on lotus base. And inside of the pavilion is decorated with beautiful patterns.
The section containing the place of worship also has many buddha images and statues of novices outdoors. And has the replica of the buddha's footprint and boundary stones of the place of worship.
The area behind the temple is section containing the monks' living quarters. There is a statue of a hermit in front too.
The courtyard in section containing the place of worship and section containing the monks' living quarters has many trees. So it looks shady.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
